Haha, LOVE THIS. That's pretty much the face I make every time I eat matzah...which is a lot, because I'm Orthodox and am required to eat a crapload of it during both seders.

It's my face when I have to eat shmura matzah. Regular box matzah isn't so bad (neither is matzah-pizza; that stuff gets me through the week).

Gah, I think box matzah is even worse than shmura! Unless you mean the boxed egg matzos? I've never had those. I'm Ashkenazi, so my family doesn't eat them on Pesach, and I have no desire to eat anything matza-like any other time of year!

And sadly, we don't eat gebrochts, so no matzah pizza or matzah lasagna for me. Pesach is tough. I'm hoping to find a nice Sephardic guy to marry. Gebrochts and Kitniyot, baby!

Nah, regular non-shmura matzah. To each their own.

No gebrochts? ::hugs:: I might cry. I've been living without kitniyot forever so that doesn't bother me, but pesach without gebrochts would kill me.

Maybe it's because I'm an ignorant goy, but I can just imagine the Doctor showing up at the right moment to be mistaken for Elijah. He's got his own chariot & everything... *g*

I love matzah and I'm not even Jewish. I think it's because it reminds me of the swedish flatbread my gran used to make.

Ha ha, yes, me too! My just-barely-Jewish girlfriend and Swedish step-family keep me very flat-bread happy!

I have to admit that was probably the face I made when I tried matzah at a friend's house

I have to say that I've never tried matzah. I'm a Christian (Southern Baptist), and we use tiny unleavened bread "pillows" for our Communion services. Isn't matzah the same as unleavened bread?

To my Jewish friends here: I hope you have a great and meaningful Passover. Even though we Christians don't usually celebrate it as such, it is part of a shared spiritual heritage between us.

To my Christian friends here: I hope you have a Happy Easter and that it is every bit as meaningful as the Jewish Passover.

To my friends of other faiths here: I hope this season will find you well and that you will celebrate whatever you do celebrate in peace and joy.

yeah, matzah is unleavened bread (and as far as I know, "unleavened bread" is also an English translation of matzah)

::hugs:: Happy Easter to you <3 and thank you.

That's kind of what I thought, but I wasn't sure. When I was little, we used to use soda crackers (AKA saltines) broken into pieces for Communion/Lord's Supper, but in recent years we've switched to the little cracker pillows.

As an aside, the Cecil B. DeMille "The Ten Commandments" has always been a TV favorite here in the States during the Passover/Easter weekend. I was wondering if it is/has ever been shown in other places.
