To start, this is not intended to be a plug for MHC. Granted, I am extremely biased. Nonetheless... Don't rule out good schools because they are prestigious. They are prestigious for a reason, and the prestige will get you places. Going to a big-name school will give you connections, cause employers to give your application a second look, and help you get where you want to go. And don't worry about having a journalism major. You may find that an English major is similar (because small liberal arts schools can only do so much). You'll probably only find journalism majors at large universities. If that's where you want to go, then go for it. But I'm sure more journalists started out as English majors than journalism majors. Yes, it is creepy when professors talk about you behind your back (my name has been traveling around the psych department, apparently). On the other hand, it's very useful for networking. Feel free to ignore my relatively patronizing advice. I just wanted to point out that there are many routes to the same destination. Go with your gut. See you around. Or not.
I do have a soft spot in my heart for MHC, I honestly do. I'm trying to keep in on the list of places that would probably be very good for me, and I guess we'll see what happens. ♥
