You are the only one! I would offer you a drabble or something, but I'm still working on that Sulu prompt you gave me, oh, two months ago...

Haha, don't worry about it! Sorry my prompt is being so difficult.

This was awesome. I love the fact that there is a darker side to heroism, and that she isn't patronised by Kirk at all. Wonderful stuff.

This is AWESOME. Chapel kicking butt and taking charge and male nurses (such a small thing but it made me happy) and a female Romulan commander (again, small but happy-making) and did I mention Chapel being a soldier and being awesome?

I loved the betting-ring, and all the little things that made Rawlings human.

And Jim at the end was great. Well-done!

I'm so glad you noticed all those small details! I mean, they are tiny, but I put the male nurses and female Romulan commander in there for a reason. (Actually, I'm really sad that the scenes from the Romulan commander's POV ended up on the cutting room floor. She was fun to write!)

Thank you again for commenting :)

Well, I wasn't exactly writing it as a reboot of that specific episode, though I was borrowing the female Romulan commander from there. But, I can definitely see how you could read it that way!

This is wonderful. I love your Chapel. Her flaws, her heroism - it all seems completely believable. I enjoyed the banter at the beginning, and the way you described the tense encounter with the Romulans. Your Jim warms my heart too.

Thank you so much! I'm especially glad that Jim's characterization rang true for you because that was the part I was most nervous about.
