"do i look like a cat to you, boy?" - supertroopers
hey y'all!!! alright- after about a bajillion tries- i can finally tell y'all about my vacation!
as most of you know, i went to colorado last week. my aunt "M" lives out there. my older brother neal got to go out there when he was my age, and then this summer it was my turn. it was incredible- i had so much fun! im sad because i didnt bring a camera or anything- but everyone else had cameras, so maybe they'll send me the pictures. =)
friday: woke up, put songs on my ipod, did laundry, and then of course- went to the pool! lauren, peter, and some sub were working. we shot hoops for awhile, and then i left around 6. i came home, showered, packed, and then watched the nats game. =) we checked on my flight and it turned out it was delayed from 9:30 to 10:15- so we had a little while longer until we had to leave. we left around 8:30, got there, i checked in, and my parents got special passes to go past security with me. when we got to the gate, it turned out that my flight had been delayed yet again- this time they said the plane was stuck in chicago and would be here, cleaned, and ready to be boarded at 11. while we were sitting in the gate, this lady who obviously had way too much to drink started comming up to us and talking to us... we made the mistake of including her into the conversation... after they called us to board, i said goodbye to my parents and then headed towards the plane- she waited me. she was asking me all these questions such as "what are you going to be doing on the plane?", "do you get scared when you fly?", "where are you going when the plane lands?", "wait for me when the plane lands, ill help you and show you where to go so you wont be scared.", "maybe i can just switch seats with someone so we can sit next to each other." AAAH kill me now. luckilly, she didnt. the flight went well. i had a window seat- and sat next to some old british couple- they didnt say much- slept and read a lot during the flight. the flight was about 4 hours long. we landed in denver at about 12:20. [theres a 2 hour time difference between va and co] M picked me up at baggage claim. we headed to her house which is about a half an hour away... when we got there, everyone seemed pretty tired, so we chillaxed for a little while, and then went to bed.
saturday: woke up at about 7:30... took the dogs for a walk with jesse, came home, ate breakfast and packed up the car. we left at around 9:40... M's friend Cathy from way back when was going to go on the trip with us. she's from the coolest place ever- clearwater, florida. Cathy's sister Cindy and her fiance Rob live in colorado- she was staying at their house. i met everyone- they are all so nice!! and then we hit the road... the mountains are GOREGOUS!!! i was amazed by what M said are the foothills. i couldn't believe it when i saw some of the actual ones- it was awsome. we drove south to pagosa springs... about a 5 hour drive or so? i slept a lot of the way. when we got to the hotel, i met Vera and Normand. they're from new mexico-- they have 2 kids, but they weren't there- apparently visiting cousins or something in kansas. so we all agreed to meet up for dinner at around 8- Cathy stayed with Vera and Normand and then in the other room it was M, Jesse, the dogs and I. and then... way to go M- she realized she forgot her bathing suit and her glasses... we had to go to the next town over, durango, to walmart and get a bathing suit- but heck yessss for walmart! i dont think ive ever been on a trip to walmart without getting something extra... haha we ended up going on a shopping spree actually... yay for walmart! we got back around 8:15 and then headed over there for dinner- jesse was already there. we ate, went back to our room to get our bathing suits- and then went to the hot springs. the resort where we were has 17 hot springs- they're basically natural jacuzzis.. and haha no, k- they're not muddy. ;-) they're all different temperatures- i found my favorite as soon as we walked in- it overlooks this big pond and there's a b-e-a-utiful view of the moon. we all chillaxed for awhile, then headed back to get some sleep.
sunday: woke up around 7:30- went to the hotel resturaunt, "the squirrel pantry" and had our free breakfast... i understand why it was free... lol. we walked the dogs around and then went over and bought weekly passes for the hotsprings- haha they give you a photo id- here's my goregous picture.. ;) :
then we headed over and picked everyone up at the room. we headed into durango for the gem and mineral show or something like that- it was like one of those conventions they have at the expo center- jewelry vendors and people selling beads and such... M bought me a purrrty ring:
i know- not very good pictures... shut your faces. we ate lunch in durango, went to starbucks, walmart, and then headed home. we stopped at "chimney rock" which M and i nicknamed "penis rock"... well- see for yourselves.. :
<-PSSSH- GET YOUR MIND OUTTA THE GUTTER. we met up at the hot springs and chillaxed there for a while... we got back to the room at around 11- i showered and then M and Jesse went over to the other room to hang out and play milbourne or something... i tried to update this on the hotel lobby computer- but it kept breaking... i went back up to the room and watched tv, they got back...and then i went to bed around 1 i guess?
monday: woke up EARLY, got breakfast, walked the dogs- and headed back to durango with everyone again. we took a bus to silverton- this one town that used to be real popular mining town.. the busride was about an hour and a half- i slept a little bit through it.. we had three hours to kill until the trainride back- we ate lunch at this place called "handelbars" and then shopped... i got a deck of cards that are what else? FLIPFLOPS! =) and a rockin' cowboy hat... check me outttt:
... haha y'all know that you're jealous!! =P So anyway, we shopped for awhile and then took the train back... oooh goodness- we unfortuantley sat in this one cabin with an old guy conductor- but there were some HOT guys working on that train... =) it was a really pretty ride back- it took you through the valley. we got back around 6 ish i think? got back to the hotel around 7... went to the hot springs... M's back had been hurtin' her, so she gave her doctor a call and got an appointment for thursday. the original plan was to go to Vera and Normand's house in new mexico, but instead we decided to go back to denver so she could go to the appointment. we got back from the springs around 11 i think- came back, i checked my email and then went to bed.
tuesday: woke up, ate breakfast- got a late checkout- went over to the springs for the morining- left the hotel around 12- said goodbye to everyone, and headed back. there was major traffic holdup due to rock blastin' or something- we stopped at the sand dunes on the way home- the original plan was to climb 'em, but Ms back was hurtin- so we just did a little bit.. hit the road again... we got back to denver at around 8 or 9. took a late trip to dairy queen- M yelled to the drive through guy that i liked him- YUCK. and then drove off.. we got back- chillaxed- watched TV... and then went to bed around 1.
wednesday: woke up and went with M to get tamales at this really good mexican place... delicious breakfast =) we chilled for a while- Jesse went to the library to study- M and I went to the denver art museum. it was actually pretty cool- a lot of it looked the same- but they had some really cool pieces- i tried finding pictures of some of my favorites- but all i could find was one- a piece of palace facade... its all carved wood with so much detail- it was beautiful:
... we went to the store- got dinner.. came home and ate- checked my e-mail- watched tv... read- went to bed around 1 i think...
thursday: woke up- walked the dogs... ate a GOOD breakfast.. tamales... yuuummm... watched some tv- M had her appointment- and then SHOPPING. =) M took me to starbucks first, and then we went to Cherry Hill or something like that- shopped for a while... i bought lunch- paneras- yuuummm. and then did some more shopping. we got home and then went to the movies. we saw "batman begins" and i totally swooned over cillian murphy who plays Dr. Crane... couldn't get a good picture- here's the one Alice sent:

friday: woke up- had breakfast- then M and I went and got our nails done.. the girl that did mine had man hands and like- crushed me during the massage.. ouch. haha we got home around 3 or so and then just chillaxed.. we met up with Cathy and Rob [Cindy had to work =( ] for dinner. it was so much fun- we stayed a long time after we ate.and next time i come- Rob said he would let me ride on his motorcycle- haha M would toally have a heart attack.. we'll keep it on the downlow.. haha. we said goodbye =( and then we got back to the house- hung out- and then packed my bags... i showered and then went to bed.
satuday: woke up at 3:30... got dressed- had some tea and then M took me to the airport. my flight was at 6- it was on time... security was a bitch to get though... it took forever. we got there just in time [haha of course after a trip for a smoothie] i said goodbye to M =( and then got on the plane- again i had a window seat. i sat next to a really nice girl who was on her way to new york and some woman who smelled like poo... the flight was about 3 and a half hours or so- my dad picked me up... i got home- and then immediatley went to the pool =) i got to see steph's grandma and grandpa and everyone else... =D and then we just basically stayed @ the pool for a while- it thundered at like, 3- so all the neighborhood kids just chillaxed outside- then it rained- so we all played basketball... basketball in the rain is the best ever. uh oh- that brings back my JMG memories.. =) military school boy.. lol K & S. i came home and slept- i ate dinner and then headed over to steph's around 9... & < the springs definitley made me less-tan... it exfoliates your skin or some crap... damn you, hot springs. =P
