Yesterday I made soup for the first time, pretty much from scratch, save for the use of a couple of bullion cubes.
I cut up beef, rolled it in Louisiana red pepper hot sauce and soy sauce, then browned it. Then I cut up potatoes, rutabaga, radishes, white onion, and also added broccoli. This was all boiled together. It ended up tasting AWESOME! I made a lot of it so I had lots to freeze for later. Mmm-mm!
Today a friend and I rode to the Big Tree and back. The first bike ride of the year. It's about 18 or 19 miles round trip, but it was hard going. The ground was really soft! And we had a head wind going out! At least that helped on the way back. It ended up taking 2 hrs total, burning almost 1700 calories in the process!
