An update
So.
Took a friend to the airport in Kansas City on Saturday. Managed an 86 mph average speed on the way back (a 150 mile distance). My friend is going to Burning Man. I am envious. It really sucks that Burning Man is during the semester. Otherwise I would have gone years ago.
Have been able to catch up with several people I hadn't seen since before the summer. (That is, since May)
Reviewed a journal paper that used chaos theory to predict spot weld quality.
Rode my bike again!!! Yay!!! It's been so hot for so long. Yesterday was nice. A friend and I rode to Rocheport and back (35 miles total), then ate lunch at Ernie's while in full bike attire. I like Ernie's.
We had to move our lab, somewhat hurriedly. I told my prof I'd help my colleague with whatever was two-man jobs, everything else the other student could take care of. I stayed here over the summer and did all the moving. My colleague is the one in a hurry AND who left for 2.5 months. He can take care of the rest by himself. My prof agreed.
It's a nice day.
