do today at work was pretty lame. but fun at the same time, but then again i was scared shitless...go figure.
i worked 12-9...so lunch and dinner basically.
the lunch shift sucked because i worked with really shitty people who get off on treating others as if they were nothing. which was pretty lame.
i took a 30 minute break alone just reading. i loved it.
then i worked dinner. the staff on for dinner coudln't be better.
2 hours into dinner the power goes out half way. we are still serving. 30 minutes later the power goes out all they way.
from hanover to pembroke and parts of boston there was absolutly no power.
dude i was so fucking scared.
in the entire restaurant there was maybe 5 lights on. the kitchen was full of smoke because the ovens burnt the pizzas going through it and the grill just sizzled till it cooled off.
it sucked. after all the customers left (none of the staff was allowed to leave) i crawled into a booth that had a light over it and just pulled open my book, threw my coat on and whipped out my cell phone.
i called my dad to see if he could hear anything about what was going on on his police scanner. and i was talking to jonsey cuz i was prettty scared.
around 830 the power comes back on. thats towards the end of dinner.
well the cooking staff had packed everything up and closed off the kitchen basically. as if it were clsoed for the night, everything was clean and stuff.
well the general maanger calls and says "open the restaurant."
wtf is the point of that. by the time everything was unpacked and the grill and ovens were back to temp it'd be time to pack everything back up and turn the ovens and grill off. it was stupid. so te serving and host staff just sat in front of the big screen tv and watched charlie brown's christmas.
i ended staying 30 minutes after my shift, but that was just so my manager could get some stuff settled. not to shabby.
right now its a little after 1030. i'm already in my pj's. and im waiting for a certain someone to give me a call. lol. im such a dork....
