Does it prove or disprove your strength in ethics when you believe in universal healthcare, vast education reform, women's rights, public transportation, and multiculturalism, and you still wish all the dumb people would kill themselves? Maybe they should just give a bunch of tax breaks to smart people, call it trickle-down acumen. Shift welfare funds to academic research grants. Pay for people with IQs of 120 or higher to travel the world, feed orphans, and find themselves. You can't run for President, Senator, Governor, or Representative unless you're in Mensa.

I think everyone running for public office should be required to submit a formal dissertation on the five most important issues facing the electorate upon announcing their candidacy. These statements should provide equal, objective consideration of at least three sides of each issue, followed by a humble opinion.

Religious and spiritual leaders should be forced to address their doubts as vigorously as their certainties. A prerequisite to any church position should be an oath stating that, while they reserve the right to fully and outwardly express their personal convictions, it is a moral transgression to attempt to impose from the outside what a human being can only find from the inside.
