I knows the end.

And so do an unfathomable amount of other people who are a helluva lot more interested than I am. Unlike them though I will never skim further than the last few pages *G*

Anyway, H.P. launch night went quite well. I did think that keeping the book under lock and key until the very stroke of midnight was a wee bit silly, but... meh!

We split the kids into houses and had them go around the various activities. I was in charge of potion making. Unfortunately for me, the weans and their parents I was not in charge of devising the potion ingredients. Both potions involved the judicious use of baking powder and vinegar tarted up as powdered unicorn horn and troll's blood.

Fizz is good.
Fizz is an easy-peasy chemical reaction with instant results. Fair enough, but it does rather catch the back of the throat when 50-odd over-excited kiddies (hopped up on blue sweets specially no doubt) decide to fling into the cauldron slightly more than the 1 teaspoon of each you advise them to use.
I can still smell vinegar and I've been home for... almost 3 hours *G*

Got a rather interesting phone call on Wednesday afternoon. A lady from Edinburgh Uni's Education Dept. asking me if I was still interested in possibly training to be a Primary School teacher.

I had applied - late - in Novemeber last year, not realising that places for interview really go out on a first-come basis. Unsurprisingly, I didn't get to the interview stage. I was going to re-apply in September this year and get in quick, but it seems that the Scottish Executive has given them extra funding for more places so they can cut down class sizes and the upshot is... I have an interview on Monday.

So, since Wednesday I have been swotting up on all the stuff I need to swot up on instead of keeping up with e-mail and LJ and fandom.

Fingers crossed.

interview, potter
