I’m gonna swear so loud I'll strip the silver lining from a cloud

Some things I have found out this week:

That the U.K. has just finished paying off our WWII loans to the Canada and the U.S.

My local cinema is about to launch special "Senior Screenings" for the *ahem* older generation. The promotional flyer made sure to mention that this includes a free cup of tea and a biscuit *G*

I didn't know that there had been an earthquake in Dumfries! On Boxing Day. 3.5 on the Richter Scale. How did I miss that!?!

David Lynch is selling his own brand of gourmet coffee.

I quite like Daniel Craig's Bond. No, scratch that... I loved Daniel Craig's James Bond.
I didn't think I would. Not because I think that the franchise should've stayed camp and completely implausible, but simply because I saw DC's interview on Parkinson. What's that got to do with anything? Well, they had managed to match the material of his tie and part of the stripe in his jacket to his eyes. Stunning effect, but all I could think of was a little snippet of a song from the Wizard of Oz... "Can you even dye my eyes to match my gown? Jolly old town". Damn tune stayed in my head for days and kept re-surfacing every time I saw him on the tele after that. ... And just that one line. Excruciating *G*

The Celtic Connections Festival starts this week *dances* Soooo many good gigs (though no McGarrigle sisters and, therefore, no possibility of Martha or Rufus appearing either). I have managed to narrow it down to two 'must see if at all possible' gigs. John McCusker (who's ensemble includes Roddy Womble and Graham Coxon) and the Karine Polwart / Seth Lakeman double bill. I can't go to both so I'll have to try and pick one! Damnit!

Do I go and see White Noise 2 simply because of Nathan? The question here really is can I bring myself to go to see a horror film... in a cinema... with all the darkness... simply because of Nathan? *sighs* Who knew watching An American Werewolf In London at the tender age of 7 would've affected my future ability to watch horror flicks so much *G*

gigs, things learnt, films
