It's
Turner Prize time again.
One of the very few times in the year when Contemporary Art is discussed at all in the media which is, now that I think on it, really a very sad state of affairs.
Anyway, teh Turner Prize *G* I've managed to successfully predict who was going to win for the past five years and, of course, now that I've just said that whoever I back this year will probably lose ;)
So who am I backing this year?
I know I'd really like Jim Lambie to win not just because he's from Glasgow *G*, but because I have admired his work for some time now. His work just instantly... makes me smile, makes me want to approach it and interact with it both physically and intellectually.
The reaction is quite like that I get to the work of David Shrigley, Mauritzio Cattelan, Sarah Lucas and, of course, my beloved Bruce Nauman.
Before I make up my mind about who the judges will pick I'll need to ruminate over the other artist's submitted work.
After all who I want to win and who I know the judges will pick has seldom been one and the same.
