In a very mellow rock mood, with hints of disturbia. Fleetwood Mac, Indigo Girls, Tori Amos, that sort of thing.
Current loved songs:
Fleetwood Mac - As Long As You Follow/Rhiannon/Dreams/Gypsy
Indigo Girls - Three Hits/Jonas and Ezekial/Joking/sometimes Galileo
Tori Amos - Sweet Mistake/Father Lucifer/Precious Things/Cornflake Girl/Caught a Lite Sneeze
also, I just remembered this song, very good and often overlooked; Beatles - She's Leaving Home
Left Banke - Shadows Breaking Over My Head/Barterers and Their Wives/Lazy Day
Irish Rovers - Black Velvet Band/Bonnie Kellswater
Queen - You're My Best Friend/Under Pressure(though mostly Bowie's parts)
Tom Waits - God's Away on Business/Misery's the River of the World
Rather off the beaten path of my usual favorites, for the most part. Everything's got a bit of that twang, nothing's really pretty but all of it kinda hits the soul in some not often remembered spot.
If you're wondering, yeah, I hadn't opened my music player or played my ipod in some months - these are just the songs that go flying through my head when I'm stocking. I know I actually trained myself to recognize these songs, but it's a bit unnerving when I become my own iPod. Still, it's not as though the hunger hasn't been there - I have fantasized on more than a few occasions about going home and plugging in some Tori, Fleetwood, and Indigo while I read.
Also, I fantasize about a world where my coworkers know Tom Waits, and can have the appropriately baffled reaction upon hearing what my favorite songs by him are.
