The Word
I haven't been reading of the bible much...in the past month and a half...so as I am in an interesting place tonight... with a lot of studying to do with practically no time, I decide to read, just for whatever....
I borrowed my friend's bible, turned on the living room light, sat on the couch, plop the bible on the couch's arm thingy and the leather bible slid open to ps. 118. Throughout psalm and the bible this phrase is repeated...and quite often I just skim right over it...or not think much of it..yet today...I am just stunned by it as I have been numerous times. It opens like so, "Give thanks to the LORD, for He is good." thats it. but those words are just sooo strong and and carries so much power. We don't give thanks to the LORD because something great happens, or because something bad happens and we "know" God has a "plan" for us(though he does) but NO. WE give Thanks because HE is GOOD. He is good. I find that is amazing that that is all we need to give thanks and praise to God. the following part of the verse says: For His lovingkindness is everlasting. and that just knocks it out of the park. what more do we need. God is good and his lovingkindness has no end. period. done. what more do we need. Praise God. Praise God.
