today is a good day.

I have a Wii. I have named it Deanstar, for reasons only memphis86 can guess.

This is good because now my mom and I can play Wii Tennis (true story, after reasoning with her, she says, "Just get a Wii so I can play tennis already! GOD!" To the point indeed.) and... you know, other games. Like ones with lightsabers. I'll get another remote and other stuff this weekend.

But tonight, there will be Friday the 13th. Tonight I get to see dark_reaction! My glee cannot be contained. It is overflowing and hyped up on chocolate (happy other Valentine's/early birthday present to meee!)

Now I just have to not bounce out of my seat for the next few hours. It'll be hard, man. OH. While I remember, I watched the original Friday the 13th last night for the first time. It was... weird. I knew ahead of time that Jason wasn't the killer (because it's one of those movie spoilers that float around for years, like Vader being Luke's dad. You can't escape it if you haven't seen it!) so... it was odd. Everyone ending up dead and I really disliked the main actress. Pamela was deliciously evil. The movie was okay but if I were evil and had to compare, Evil Dead scared the shit out of me more, and that... also had a cabin. Yes, I know, that doesn't compare. (Oh, the days when Freddy vs. Jason vs. Ash looked like a possibility. Thankfully nothing came of that!)

But I gotta say, the ending? Freaked me the fuck out. I thought maybe Jason might reach a hand out of the water (like Carrie) but noo. Freaking GRABBING FROM BEHIND. WHAT. JESUS.

This is what happens when I don't really watch any horror movies until I'm 15. Seven years later and freaking lake mutant-y things FREAK ME OUT, OKAY. Hopefully I won't flail during the movie tonight. I'm looking forward to the madness. ...and that was my years delayed review.

movies: friday the 13th 1980, movies, video games
