A/N: Because I posted this on AFF last week, I believe, and it has become my most viewed, commented, and subscribed story that quickly. I hope you enjoy. ^_^
Jiao was an average woman on the run. Then again, what's normal about a woman on the run? Not to mention, what's normal about a woman on the run from a vampire?
She wasn't exactly running from him. It was more like hiding. She knew something was very...different about him the day she met him. He stood out from a crowd. Actually, he literally stood over the crowd. He had flawless skin, pale but still slightly sun-kissed - making it appear a light shade of peach. When he smiled, to whomever it was that he had been talking to at the moment, her heart skipped a beat. She noticed his eyes glisten just before they met hers. Those dark eyes made her knees weak. Jiao took a deep breath, trying to remember what it was that she was supposed to be doing, and where she was for that matter. After a short while, it finally dawned on her that she was at the street market, picking up some food for home. Nodding her head and returning her eyes to her list, she began to scan the stands for what it was that she needed.
Jiao was standing at the curb of the market, holding a few items in her hands with the others in the bags sitting at her feet, while she attempted to flag down a cab. She was startled a bit by a deep voice nearby. She'd never heard a voice that was so soft and yet rough and deep at the same time. She couldn't help but to give a quick glance over to her right. There he was, holding another conversation. This time, he was talking to a vendor. She realized that she was smiling when her cheeks began to hurt. She swore under her breath, trying to figure out why she was smiling like an idiot. It wasn't like it was the first time, but there was a part of her telling her that it was because of this complete stranger. She didn't mind the idea, but there was also a part of her telling her that it was a very bad idea to even look in his direction. A cab finally stopped for her and she gathered her bags, piling them along with herself into the backseat and then gave the driver the address to her apartment building. Before the cab pulled away, Jiao found herself glancing at the dashing stranger just one more time - and catching him smiling back at her.

Once is normal. Twice is ironic. Three times is awkward. Four times, there's got to be something wrong. Not too long after, everyday for a month? It has to be fate or at least some kind of supernatural source putting their hand into her situation.
The first time seeing that man wasn't weird at all. He stood out, which is just something normal that happens once in a while. Now, seeing him everyday for a month gave her a completely uneasy feeling. For someone that she'd never seen before, why wouldn't Jiao feel like she was going insane literally seeing him everywhere. There was no way that it could be coincidence. She would see him at the corner video store, at the restaurant she went to on rare occasion, at the department store downtown, at the car wash near her favorite bookstore, and even in the zen garden near her job where she would spend her lunch break. Even when she tried to change up her daily routine, he would still manage to show up.
One day, it didn't seem like he'd showed up in the zen garden. Jiao couldn't tell if she was angry about him not being here or if she was happy he hadn't showed up for once.
"Are you looking for someone?"
She hid the squeal that was threatening to break through and turned around, fist connecting with his jaw. His head turned stiffly to the left and he rolled his shoulders, rubbing his jaw. Jiao's eyes widened. There was no way in hell that hit had hurt him. She could swear her wrist and fingers cracked in places she didn't think possible. He straightened himself up and adjusted his jaw, making it release an horribly audible pop and crack before it was back in place. He held her wrist, chuckling softly when she tried to glare at him but only managed to cringe from the pain. He placed a kiss where the bottom of her palm connected with the beginning of her wrist and then rubbed it with his thumb. "You really should be careful," he spoke.
Jiao rolled her eyes, "You don't just walk up behind someone like that."
He nodded, still smiling, "Yes, you're right. I'm sorry."
She just rolled her eyes again, pulling her wrist away from his hands and not even realizing that there was absolutely no pain in it anymore. He smiled, "What's your name?"
"Jiao," she stated coldly, eyeing him suspiciously, "What's yours?"
"You can just call me Kris."
"Stalker," she muttered.
He heard it loud and clear though. "I'm not stalking you. I'm just too interested. I couldn't find a good way to just walk up to you, but I didn't want to stay away either."
"Do you realize how cheesy that actually sounds?"
"I wasn't going for cheesy. I'm just telling the truth."
"Well, your truth is cheesy, and you're still incredibly creepy."
"But it seems like you were looking for me just now."
Jiao grew quiet. She wanted to hit him again, but realized she didn't want a repeat of the pain that she ended up feeling throughout her body the first time. Suddenly, he was asking if he could take her out to dinner, and she found herself unable to say no.
~~~
Things were casual at first. Jiao found out that he wasn't as creepy as he led on. He was actually very nice and polite and funny. It wasn't the first time that she'd learned "looks are decieving."
Admittedly, everyone realizes that they may not know everything about someone, especially after just three years, but you'll know something. For Jiao, she really never expected one day to throw everything she once knew about him right out of the window.
It wasn't anything new for them to set a time at the end of the week and to decide on which of their apartments in which they would be meeting. They had a spare key to each other's apartments and everything was normal.
Normal. There's never been such a thing. No one really has a normal life. Some just have really dramatic lives, some have the clichés. There are those that have the perfect life of the rich and famous and those that have to tough it out. Jiao was currently in the category of dramatic, cliché, and definitely straight out of a movie.
Jiao stared in awe. She dropped her keys and stepped backwards through the threshold of her apartment. She stopped at the doorway, her feet not allowing her to move any further. Fingers curling tightly around the strap of her bag, she could feel her heart pounding against her ribcage with the back of her hand. She was sure he could hear it, too. He took a step forward, his crimson eyes and flawless skin gorgeous and entrancing with the bits of light that poured through the slits in the blinds. His red-stained lips curled up into a smirk.
She should've known. It wasn't the first thing that she would think of, but she definitely could have seen it coming - except for him actually enjoying a meal in her apartment.
Kris had already dropped the body on her living room floor. He was now hovering over her, his eyes dark and boring into hers. Her bag fell to her feet and her hand raised to graze her fingertips along his jawline. She wanted to hit him, but even after three years, the pain from the first time was still fresh in her head. Her hand fell to her side and she looked down at the floor. His smile fell. Her heartbeat was steady. She showed no signs of anger, or sadness, or fright, or any emotion that he could read for that matter. In his defense, Kris was sure that he'd had enough time to finish eating and then getting rid of any evidence. He'd done it so many times over the pass few years and she hadn't caught him, but he should have known that she would find out sooner or later. Before he realized it, he was outside the threshold. He felt like he was looking at something so very distant all of a sudden and then he was hearing the word that shot through and cracked his non-beating heart: Goodbye~
One week. Four weeks. Six months. One year. Six more months.
During his vampire existence, Kris had never realized how much he hated separation. He enjoyed being a loner, but...but this was something different. He wanted Jiao and the longer he'd been apart from her, the more his animalistic nature had taken over. He wasn't going on killing sprees or anything, but he was definitely putting a dent in the count for living things in general. It wasn't an obvious thing and no one had bothered to try and figure out what was going on with the out-of-the-blue killings of both humans and animals. The numbers didn't add up very high to make it noticeable anyway. Kris was getting close to that stage though. He wanted to kill anything that moved, whatever simply breathed around him.
He eventually found himself in a coven. He'd only heard of them before, never experienced or let alone seen one. Up to that point in his life, he'd only thought of them as myths and legends, wondering if a group of vampires could ever really stick together and not attempt to kill each other. Whether he liked it or not, he was eventually proclaimed the leader of the group. The others looked up to him, especially since he had more experience with the world. Kris could live with humans on a daily basis and easily live amongst them - before Jiao, of course. His wisdom and strength easily put him in their position of leadership. His first big mission in charge? To hunt down his Jiao.
The United States. She felt like it was the least obvious place for her to run to, on most occasions. On the other hand, she always wondered if it would be the first place she'd be discovered. Her English was good enough to get her there and get settled. After a while, her English has become fluent and she had no problem fitting in. A year and a half, and there he was sitting in her new house, waiting for her on the couch. She felt the temptation on the tip of her tongue to ask how he'd even gotten in, but she didn't bother. She set her messenger bag down by the door and stood there with her arms across her chest, "What are you doing here?"
"What part of 'I don't want to stay away' did you not comprehend?"
"The part where you make it seem like I'm supposed to always be there at arm's reach for you like you own me or something.'
"I don't have to own you, Jiao," Kris' lips tightened into a smirk, "But you are mine."
"Don't get cocky all of a sudden. You can just take that somewhere else."
Jiao began to feel like she was floating. Her head was emptying. She couldn't remember why she was upset at the moment. Kris grinned, "Come here." He spoke and she followed the command, taking a seat on his lap. He rubbed her lower back, smirk still plastered in place as he drew his fangs. She gave in and touched them with her fingers, toying with the tips and eventually piercing her index finger. He drew the appendage in between his lips and licked it clean before the blood could stream down her finger. She stared at him, dazed. He chuckled and leaned in, kissing her. Her head was a mix of two different fogs now - whichever one was intruding and one that was seemingly natural in response to the kiss. His lips thin, soft, and a few degrees cooler than hers. The kissed pressed on and his hands began to roam whatever he could touch of her while his tongue explored her mouth and greeted her tongue. Her arms soon found their way around his neck, holding him close and letting her fingers grip onto his hair.
Kris pulled her off his lap, laying her down on the couch. He took place between her legs and then took her shirt off, removing his own as well. Jiao was still dazed, but the artificial haze was beginning to dissipate. She touched his fangs again and began a trail with her fingers - over his bottom lip, down his chin to his adam's apple, and then slowly down his chest to the top of his pants. He kissed her and removed her bra, letting her undo the belt on his pants. With the second kiss, that fog that had been commingling with the one his kisses caused finally disappeared. Her head was clear and she was fully aware again of what was going on. She was enjoying his touch way too much to stop him. She initiated the next kiss, unbuttoning and unzipping the fly of his pants, giving her access to what she really wanted. She moaned softly as she rubbed him through his boxers. He was only half-hard and she could already tell that he was packing something she'd greatly enjoy. Her nimble fingers soon went past the band of his boxers and gave a few experimental tugs at his growing hardness. Kris pulled away from the kiss, letting out a deep, breathy sigh. His eyes closed for a moment, dark and glistening when he opened them again.
She looked into his eyes, giving a harsher tug. The action made him hiss and draw his bottom lip between his teeth. Jiao wet her hand with her own spit and then went back to working his dick, sucking on his Adam’s apple. He let her have her fun for a bit, enjoying himself as well. Kris held onto the back of her neck, pulling her up from his neck and kissing her as he removed her hand from his length. He continued kissing her as he removed her jeans, his tongue exploring and toying with hers.
Jiao couldn’t help but to run the tip of her tongue over his fangs a couple of times. She lifted her hips as he worked the material down her legs. The chill that ran through her nether regions let her know that he’d slipped off her underwear as well. She pulled away to catch her breath, eyes dropping closed and body jerking when the pads of his fingers rubbed her clit. Her top lip was sucked into her mouth, her teeth holding it in place, and then releasing it when his index finger had found its way inside. She whimpered and shut her eyes tightly when a second finger joined. Jiao wasn’t exactly new to sex, but she was to actual penetration.
Kris peppered kissed along her jaw, neck, and cheek - pecking her lips a few times to get her to relax. His fingers worked her walls and slowly she loosened up, finding herself moaning and holding onto the edge of the couch. Suddenly, she felt something pop and pain spread throughout her pelvis. A few tears spilled from the corners of her eyes and Kris was quick to kiss them away. When she finally opened her eyes, her entire face flushed and then turned red, from behind her ears and down across the top of her chest. It was no surprise that his long fingers broke her hymen and it shouldn’t have surprised her either that he was apparently enjoying the blood that was covering his fingers, but it did.
He smirked once his fingers were clean as he changed his place between her legs, his broad shoulders now pressed up against the backs of her thighs. Her head dropped back down to the couch cushion as he warm tongue began to lick and probe. She bit her lip, hard, when that same muscle slipped inside, bringing out the bit of blood still inside its owner’s waiting mouth. Kris changed his angle a few times, his inhumanly pointed teeth brushing along her clitoris and making her legs quiver. Jiao locked her hands tightly in his hair as he continued tonguing her insides, large hands exploring thighs and calves and her sides. He changed his angle again, fingers pressing into her thighs and hiking her legs up over his shoulders, allowing him to reach deeper. Her back arched and, just a few moments later, her thighs were locking his head between them, her fingers keeping a tight grip, and her heels digging into his shoulders blades. Kris ate up everything she gave him, letting her legs fall from his shoulders as he sat up again, grinning widely.
Kris stepped out of his boxers, setting them on the floor. Jiao sat up a bit, resting her head on the arm of the couch behind her and then instructed him to move closer. He did just as he was told, still smirking. She didn’t hesitate to slip his dick into her mouth, giving herself a taste. She hummed, eyes closing as she began to bob her head. She toyed with his balls with the tips of her little fingers. The intake of a deep breath was enough encouragement. Jiao took more of him into her mouth, hollowing out her cheeks, and rolled him around in her small palm, feeling him gradually growing tighter.
Again, a gentle hold on the back of her neck pulled her off. She watched his lips pull into another smirk, as he licked his lips and settled himself back between her legs. Her eyes finally met up with his again and she swallowed nervously at such a lust-filled look. One of her legs were lifted back up onto his shoulder. Thankfully, her legs long enough. He nipped at her calf, but not enough to make it bleed, as he slid himself inside very slowly. Her nails dugs into his biceps, eyes falling closed again. He was barely halfway in and she was already beginning to feel full.
A choked gasp escaped her when he finally bottomed out. He grinned, pulling out slowly and thrusting back in hard. His name breathlessly left her lips as her hips pressed down, trying to meet his thrusts and get him to move faster. It didn’t work. He kept a hard slow pace, not even considering moving faster. She groaned, both in irritation and because she was losing herself terribly fast despite his pace. Jiao gave a try at begging him to move quicker aloud, but that didn’t work either. He sped up just a bit, relishing in how her body twisted and how quickly her heart was beating. Her breath was shallow and her head was spinning.
Kris thrust harder, pace unchanging. Jiao whimpered, muscles beginning to spasm and heart pounding against her ribcage. He was pulling her deep into the abyss and her body suddenly crashed. Her vision went white and blurry and she couldn’t hear anything besides the deafening level of her pulse in her ears. She hadn’t realized she’d literally screamed his name as she came over the organ still slowly pumping inside her.
Her eyesight was blurry with tears when she finally got her eyes to open again. She looked him directly in his eyes and moved her legs to lock around his waist, arms pulling his down for a passionate kiss. She drew his bottom lip between her teeth and gave it a harsh tug. He groaned, gripping her waist and shutting his eyes. She bit as his neck and tugged at the piercings in his ear, moaning in his ear when he finally came undone. Jiao grinned to herself as her name fell from his lips in a whisper against her shoulder.
Kris pulled himself out, laying on his side - back against the back of the couch. Jiao’s breath was finally even again as she ran her fingers through his hair, smiling a bit star-struck at him. He smiled back and pecked her lips, wrapping his arms around her. She sighed and he cocked an eyebrow."I can't believe you came here just to have sex with me."
"I didn't. It was mostly to get the one thing you refused to let me have."
"...And that would be," she encouraged him to finish.
"Your committment."
"Stop being so cheesy~!"
He chuckled and kissed the top of her head. Then, he noticed she looked very upset. "Y-You're not mad at me, are you?"
"About the sex thing, somewhat... Kind of," she boldly lied, "I'm more upset about you using whatever that compulsion thing is that you can do on me."
He just looked at her, honestly a bit surprised that she realized what it was. He nodded.
"I mean it, especially if you try to use it to make me forget what a cheesy jerk you are!"
Kris laughed, shaking his head, "You need some sleep. Just close your eyes."
"...Bite me," she growled under her breath, although closing her eyes and resting her head on his shoulder again.
Jiao slowly began to drift off, but not before she heard Kris' reply: It would be my pleasure~
A/N: Was it worth reading? I'm going to go through and proofread it once over, so yeah. I hope you enjoyed. :)
