Z-night!
Happy Spring solstice everyone! Today, I am greeted by a high of 56 and a low of 43. Not half bad! Oh, and thunderstorms. Oh well. At least they will be warm thunderstorms!
I got invited to a "Z-night" party. Of course, I was curious too. And no, it doesn't involve zombies, sadly. Evidently you bring a dish starting with Z and everybody gets there and hangs out - and at some point during the course of the evening, everyone votes on a dish - with no specification as to what you should be voting on. Prizes are awarded and everyone has a good time! Evidently these people have worked through the enitre alphabet and I got invited to the 26th one. (At roughly 1 a month, that's over 2 years! pretty sweet!)
Anyway, my best choice so far I think is Zucchini Apple Pie - because if you put Zucchini in a pie with apple pie spices, it tastes almost exactly the same. And it's nifty. There is, of course Ziti, and a couple of Italian and German desserts such as Zabaglione (Italian custard), Zeppole (Italian fried cookies), and Zimtsterne (German spicy cookies.) Anybody have any other ideas for me so I could avoid the zucchini route which probably everyone will be taking? :)
