Wowzers! It's been many moons since I've updated this jigga. Even more sadly, nothing much has happened since last updating. *wipes away a lonely tear* The only thing that really happened of any import was that I went to see Lewis Black at the Louisville Palace.
For those of you who don't know who Lewis Black is, he would best be described as one of the funniest, if not THE funniest, men in America. Possibly the world...and the universe. He has had numerous comedy specials on HBO and, more recently, Comedy Central and can also be seen weekly during his segment on the Daily Show with Jon Stewart (one of the best shows on tv) entitled Back in Black. I haven't laughed that hard for such an extended period of time since I saw House of the Dead...but Lewis Black intended to be funny. Seriously. If that man ever comes to or anywhere near your town then don't think twice about going to see him. He's absolutely hysterical. Who wouldn't love a middle-aged plump angry jewish guy with a heart of gold. I know I do.
Anyhoo, I got my SARS report or, whatever it's called, a couple days ago saying that IUS got my information so I assume I should hear something about my financial aid situation within a month or so. Hopefully before the summer...but I'm not holding my breath. I'm mainly trying to save some extra cash for the summer. I have a few trips planned, but saving money is hard to do when there's so much good music coming out lately. Speaking of which, a local Louisville band, Emanuel, signed with a big-name record label (Vagrant Records with such bands like Dashboard Confessional, Alkaline Trio, and Senses Fail on its roster) from California and their first domestic release comes out today, March the 15th, so I highly recommend that you check them out. Not only are they talented musicians, but they're really nice a sweet guys. I've hung out with and partied with them numerous times. Really down to earth and hard working dudes. If nothing else, go to Vagrant.com and check out their site and if you like what you hear pick up a copy. Help support Louisville music. The album is called Soundtrack to a Headrush and it even got a review in Rolling Stone and Alternative Press magazines. Rolling Stone gave it 3 stars.
Well, enough rambling, it's bed time. Goodnight all!
Nick out.
