The Character Physically
1. What is the character's stature and build? Is he overweight? Thin? What is his height and weight?
(In this body) Robin is six feet even and lanky. He's not precisely skinny-- he's not one of those skin-and-bones on a six-foot-frame guys-- but he's much closer to being skinny than he is to being muscular and buff. Speaking of muscles, he's not really that toned at all. Robin's physical appearance can be changed both by his own will and by how people perceive him.
2. How old is he?
An excellent question. Good luck getting a straight answer from him; he honestly doesn't remember. He says he 'came to England when Oak, Ash, and Thorn did'. I mentally tend to say a few thousand years old, but giving an actual number to his age is pretty pointless one way or the other. As to how old he looks-- it can fall anywhere from mid-twenties to about forty, but on a bad day it looks as though he's had a few Botox injections and possibly a few plastic surgeries to keep looking youthful-- he looks strained and stretched about the eyes and mouth.
3. Describe his posture. Is it good? Does he carry himself well? Is he crooked? Straight?
Robin tends to slouch, sprawl, flop, and lounge as much as possible. Unless there's cameras about. Then he will sit and stand straight. If he feels like it.
4. Is he in good shape or out of condition? Is he muscularly weak or strong?
It's not really applicable for him. Given how little he exercises and his diet and bad habits, he would be in terrible shape for a human, but... Most of the trappings of humanity, such as getting out of breath after a run, are things Robin allows to occur to him, with varying degrees of being aware he's doing it.
He is physically stronger than any average human, and certainly more so than a man of his apparent build and musculature. He rarely uses said strength however.
5. How is his health? Any illnesses or conditions? Any physical disabilities?
Again, it's not really applicable. By rights he should have lung cancer and liver failure and a fried cortex. He doesn't. AS for mental health... Robin is in therapy, which he does because it amuses him, but that doesn't mean his psyche is not a very strange minefield beneath the simple exterior layers. It would be a mistake to judge his sanity or lack thereof by human standards.
6. Is he physically active or sedentary? A fast or slow mover?
Physically active, though not with any set exercise. He seems to constantly have a large amount of excess energy that needs burning off, and tends to move around a lot even when doing nothing more than being in his office.
7. Is he clumsy, awkward, graceful?
Robin is reasonably graceful most of the time, unless he's intentionally acting the buffoon, and when he wants to be is superhumanly graceful.
8. Does he move in straight or curved lines? Is he physically tight or fluid?
Mostly curved lines, mostly fluid. He does lots of seemingly random circles that still tend to get him just where he wants to be.
9. What are his chief efforts?
It really depends on his mood when he gets up. His attention to his dress varies from exacting and calculated selection of designer items to... going out in ratty jeans and a hoodie if he feels like it. The one thing he is absurdly proud of is his hair.
10. Is the character good-looking, pretty, beautiful, average, plain, ugly, disfigured?
Robin has one of those faces where the bits don't quite seem to add up to the whole... He has a ridiculously angular and modelesque bone structure, especially his cheekbones, but they might work better with a brunette who could pull off smoldering gazes with them. He has an extremely British nose and profile. And he has lovely lips, but they would probably work better on a woman. There is also that hair of his. Overall he is striking, but the word 'pretty' fits him better than 'handsome'.
11. Is the character aware of himself physically? His looks?
Robin is aware of his looks, knows how to use them to his best advantage, and considers himself quite attractive. And considers you should share his opinion on that topic.
12. Describe his complexion and skin. Dark, light, clear, marked?
As a natural redhead, Robin is very fair. Also, freckles! Oh, and he has a few tattoos.
13. Describe his hair, coloring, styling. Is it taken care of?
Reddish-blonde, the exact proportion of each varying according to light, clothing, time of year, and mood. It is well taken care of, and usually worn in artful disarray about his ears like the tangled curls of a debauched angel. Sometimes he lets it grow out longer. It is naturally curly, but occasionally he goes to the trouble of straightening it.
14. How is his usual dexterity? Does he have good hands: Can he do things? Is he a worker?
Robin is very skilful with his hands, especially with creative things. He is less so with electronics, but not to the point of clumsiness. He would not consider himself a worker, but then, he also wouldn't consider crafting a lute from scratch to be really work. "It's fun! If it was work, I wouldn't be doing it!"
15. Is he physically tense or relaxed, nervous, controlled?
He's a bundle of energy, but it's not really nervous energy. It's the sort of energy that makes others nervous.
16. What are his chief tension centers?
Head, probably.
17. What part of his body would you notice first?
Hair. It is rather eye-catching.
18. Describe his basic gravity factor. Is there a downward pull or buoyancy?
Buoyancy. Robin bounces.
The Character's Clothes
1. How much clothes does this character have?
Far, far too many.
2. What items are in their wardrobe?
A number of extraordinarily expensive designer jeans and shirts, many fine suits, a tux or three, as well as a number of clothes that are chosen merely for comfort... Robin has no serious financial limits and is an impulse buyer with a very active and high-profile social life: you do the math. He has good fashion sense, and often dresses to draw eyes.
3. What are their favorite articles of clothing?
When all is said and done? His shoddy trainers, a pair of worn jeans, and a comfortable hoodie.
4. What colors are the clothes? Is there a wide range? Bright or dull? What are their favorite colors to wear?
Blues, blacks, whites, and pastels are his favorites, but he'll really wear anything he deems sufficiently fabulous to adorn his body.
5. Are their clothes bright or dull?
They tend more to bright.
6. Were they bought or home-made, hand-me-downs, expensive?
Expensive save some of the 'comfort' clothing.
7. What is one of his favorite items to wear?
Black suit jacket and trousers along with a white dress shirt, unbuttoned and untucked
8. Do his clothes fit well?
Yes
9. Is he comfortable in what he wears? Does he "fight" his clothes?
Yes, regardless of what he's wearing
10. Is he confident about the way he dresses, or uneasy?
Confident
11. Does he care for his clothes? Keep them up and neat? Is he worried about how they look?
Not... really. He does if he remembers to. But he can always get more of them.
12. Does he have to dress a certain way because of his job or position? If so, do his usual clothes fit his real, basic character?
Sometimes. Press conferences or business meetings sometimes require a suit, but the music industry is informal enough that the clothes can likewise be a bit informal, and he tends to exploit that.
13. Does he dress according to a self image of himself? Is that self image conscious or unconscious? At what age was this self image made?
It's difficult to draw the line with Robin of where his self-image is... self-made, and where it's media-made. They reinforce each other. Robin dresses as a partying, successful, innovative, rich, trendy music producer dresses, and since he's done more than a bit to make the stereotype, it's a reinforcing loop.
14. What kind of underwear does he wear?
Robin is currently delighted with the invention of the 'boxer brief.'
The Character's Voice
1. Does he speak in a high or low pitch voice? When might he be higher than usual? When lower?
Medium. He has an excellent singing range, however.
2. Is he a loud or soft talker?
Fairly loud. He can easily hold a room with his voice when he wants to.
3. Is there a wide range in the voice in volume, pitch and/or quality, or is the voice pretty consistent and even?
Robin's voice, like much of the rest of him, can be pretty theatrical. He's at least as conscious of his voice as he is of his looks, if not more so, and he uses it to great effect when he wishes to.
4. Is there good resonance to the voice? Is the voice throaty, chesty, heady, nasal?
Fairly good resonance.
5. Is there tension in the voice? Anxiety? Emotion?
Not usually.
6. Is there an accent? Anything unusual in pronunciation? Emphasis? Phrasing?
Very obviously British accent. But as to just which British accent... Robin can vary all over the geographical regions of the UK and frequently does, though his default accent appears to be upper-class, well-educated. He's fond of convoluted sentence structure, big words, poetic turns of phrase, and the occasional archaism.
7. Is it a trained voice, or just natural?
It wasn't trained by anyone else.
8. Does the character "try" to speak well or just "how it comes out"?
Robin would say it's just how it comes out. He's so thoroughly an entertainer that the distinction may be a pointless one.
9. Is the speech clear or muddy? Does he mumble? Is he distinct?
Clear and distinct, unless he starts talking too fast.
10. Is the voice comforting or irritating? Reassuring or disturbing?
Robin's voice is pleasant, but not necessarily comforting. He has a tendency to babble at times, which people may find either endearing or irritating as suits them.
11. Is he self-conscious when he speaks to others? How large a group could he speak to before he became self-conscious?
Robin and the words self-conscious do not occupy the same continent. And he could address a whole continent.
The Character's Mind
1. Is the character smart, dumb, naive?
Robin's savvy like a fox. He is clever, shrewd, eloquent, and witty. He does occasionally come off as an utter idiot, but this tends to be either simple thoughtlessness, or his playing the fool. He's not always aware of the difference.
2. Does he think quickly? Slowly? Is he quick-witted? Dull?
Very quickly. Sometimes he outthinks himself.
3. What kind of education has he had?
Robin is well-read and tends to know at least a little something about nearly anything, but he's had no formal education.
4. What subjects does the character have knowledge or expertise in?
Anything and everything pertaining to music, theatre, film, or the performing arts, Robin is liable to be extremely knowledgable on. He also loves a good gossip. He has a pretty strong understanding of the human psyche which he may or may not let on about. He's also quite familiar with magic. Literature is decent but not all-encompassing; everything else tends to go downhill from there.
5. Is the character impulsive or deliberate in reaching conclusions? Is he logical, rational, or emotional?
Impulsive, impulsive, impulsive. Emotional for the most part.
6. Does he think out things before he speaks or can she "think on his feet" as she is speaking?
Mostly improv. Occasionally Robin has long-laid plans and clever things thought out well beforehand.
7. Does he have contemplative times? What does she think about when alone?
Robin is allergic to introspection.
8. Is he an idealist? A pragmatist? A dreamer? An idea man? An action man?
Pretty pragmatic, especially when it comes to saving his own skin. He's also a constant whirlpool of ideas, and will act on them-- but he tends to lose interest halfway through. Think someone who's nearly always on the manic side of bipolar, with a side helping of ADD, and you have a pretty good idea.
9. Is his life motivated chiefly by abstract ideals or practical rewards?
Robin doesn't necessarily distinguish between the two. He's motivated by his own survival, which is tied in closely to a number of abstract ideals about 'art' and 'faith'.
The Character's Emotions and Personality
1. Is he an introvert or an extrovert?
Extrovert, albeit a marvelously self-centred one.
2. Does he get along well with people? Does he have charm? Are people attracted to him? Does he like people?
Robin oozes charm from every pore. Many people are attracted to him (though certainly not all-- many also find him superficial, exasperating, and childish). Robin himself quite likes people, as a general rule.
3. Does he have many friends? Any close friends?
He has oodles and oodles of friends. Close friends, on the other hand... Not really. Probably one of the few who really knows him well is Ruairi MacEibhir.
4. Is he hot-blooded or cool-headed?
Robin's fits of pique tend to come and go like people rushing in and out of a Tube station. That said, it takes a lot to make him genuinely and lastingly angry. However, should that happen... pray you are not the topic of said anger. Robin will very contentedly plot the ruin of his enemies for years, and watch with a cold smile when plans come to calculated fruition.
5. Does he have a narrow or wide range of emotions? Do they show often?
It's a toss-up as to whether Robin is as genuinely shallow as he can come off, or whether it's all elaborate acting. As a general rule he tends to consistently show about three emotional states: exuberant, irritated, and bored.
6. Does he indulge in emotional peaks, outbursts, or valleys? Often?
He's all over the map.
7. Would you say he is basically sensitive or calloused?
Calloused.
8. Is he suspicious, cautious, trusting, or naive about new people or situations?
Robin can sometimes give the impression of naivete, but nothing could be further from the truth.
9. Is he an aggressive or reactive person? Is he a pusher or a puller?
Push, pull, coax, cajole, harass, bother, and does it all with a smile.
10. Does he take positive or negative action?
Mostly positive.
11. In a danger or emergency situation would he go to it or run away from it?
Robin would watch enthralled.
12. Is the character basically nervous or calm?
Calm, but high-octane.
13. Does the character have a sense of humor? Does he appreciate jokes? Can he see humor in unfunny situations? Can he laugh at himself?
Oh, Robin has a finely honed sense of humor. There are remarkably few situations he won't find funny. It is however generally at the expense of others. He does worse when the humor starts hitting close to home... he can be very self-deprecating of himself, but that doesn't mean others are allowed to do so.
14. Can he tell a funny story or joke? Do others find him amusing?
It's sort of his profession. Yes.
15. Is he a practical joker? What is his opinion of tricks or jokes played on other people?
Yes. He's all for them.
16. Is his humor ever cruel?
Definitely can be.
17. Under what conditions could he be harmful or mean or cruel to another person?
When he is annoyed or bored. Puck has actually mellowed somewhat in this century-- he's less disposed these days to feeding someone to Hell, and will settle for ruining a career instead.
18. Is he a loving person? Is he full of love and giving or rather bound and tight in this area? Is he capable of relation to others in a loving way? Is he capable or relating to one specific person in a romantic way?
Erm. Robin can be very affectionate. And he quite means (nearly) all his nice words. It's just that he also means them to the next person he says them to, and the next, and the next...
19. Is he loved by any other people? In what way?
*chuckles* He has a string of vengeful ex- lovers...
20. Is he romantically in love now? With whom? Is this a happy, rewarding or frustrating situation for him?
Not really.
The Character's Wealth, Power, and Influence
1. Does this person have much money? Does it provide position or respect from others for him?
Yes, and yes. Which is about all he sees it as good for. Robin enjoys having ridiculously expensive and nice things, but at heart he really wouldn't be too bothered if he had to hit the road tomorrow with nothing but the clothes on his back and a guitar.
2. Is he generous or selfish with his money and possessions?
Oh, very generous. Not that it really costs him anything to be so.
3. Is the character socially prominent? Is she prominent from wealth, position or office, family history, ability or accomplishment?
In the entertainment industry. There's a fairly good chance he knows at least someone in any given field. His entertainment prominence comes from his own musical accomplishment to some degree, but more from the other people he's helped along to fame. Robin's also fairly well-known in occult circles.
4. Does the character rate high in the "pecking order" with his household? Town? Area? Nation? World?
Household = not really applicable. His influence is more industry-specific and less geographically relevant.
5. Does this person wield much clout? Over whom and by what means?
A good deal. He has somewhere in the area of a hundred employees spread out in America and England, who are naturally all answerable to him; he also has about a hundred musical groups or artists signed to his label-- not a large number, but they all tend to be very good. He has some financial clout in a few film studios as well. He's pretty respected in, again, the industry.
In magic Robin has much less of a network, but he does have a good many people who owe him favours.
6. Can he command others to do his bidding, by word or manipulation?
Yes. Employees obviously have to do what he tells them if they want to keep their job, and Robin's very good at manipulating people who are not his employees.
7. How does he get his wishes daily?
Charm, generally.
8. To whom is he subservient? Is this submission willing or unavoidable?
This one is a bit tricky. Robin has a deep-seated need to have somebody around to please and obey; for a good portion of his existence this was Titania and Auberon, the Queen and King of Faerie. He has also served other monarchs and lords. However, Robin also resents these authority figures at the same time he's serving them, so it's a rather prickly topic for him. These days he regards himself to have exchanged kings and queens for the public, which he says is less demanding on the whole.
The Character's Activities
1. How does the character spend his time?
Robin stays busy with a stereotypically-constant whirl of parties, premieres, power lunches, screenings, photo shoots, conferences, dinner dates, and work, which consists of scouting talent and being present at recording sessions. Contrary to how it may look, Robin is also perfectly competent at the more mundane aspects of running his record label, and is an excellent negotiator with a knack for corporate hardball, but he finds all those bits boring and does them as little as possible.
2. What does his daily routine consist of?
He wakes depending on when the party ended the night before, usually between ten a.m. and noon. This generally gives him time to get to lunch with whoever he's having it with. After lunch he'll likely gravitate to the office, arriving around one or two, and do an hour or so of either work or aggravating his assistants. If someone is recording that day he'll traipse down to the studio to listen in and offer (excellent) criticism. If someone is recording this usually goes late, nine or ten pm if not later, because Robin is a perfectionist and will make the band or artist stay until he's satisfied. Afterwards (if everyone else isn't just plain exhausted) he'll take everyone out to a dinner which will likely segue into a party that won't wind down until somewhere in the a.m. On days without recordings, Robin's usually bored of the office by three or four and will wander out to go get a manicure or play a round of golf with someone or go to the beach or park for a hot dog or iced tea or... by six he's finding someone to go to dinner with, by seven they're eating in some trendy restaurant or bistro, and by eight they're on their way to a movie, play, concert, etc. (Or there are plenty of nights Robin goes scouting instead, which he does by himself and which consists of going to smoky little back-room clubs and outdoor amateur concerts and so forth.) Robin will, almost inevitably, end up at some party before the night is over, though some days it's a B-list-celebrity-gala and some days it's just a block or beach party where the keg you bring is your invitation. Eventually he will get back home and stumble to bed. Rinse, repeat!
3. What is his profession or work?
Producer. Officially.
4. What things does he really like to do?
Robin enjoys dancing, shopping, parties, stand-up comedians and/or beat poets, any sort of performance art, including of course music. He does not perform for others anymore himself.
5. What things does he hate to do?
Pay bills, read legal documents, exercise, cook, clean, wait. For anything.
6. What are his leisure time activities? Pastimes? Recreation?
Chasing people on his Segway if he's stuck in the office. Actually he has a number of terrible things he does to kill time in the office, including one of those absurd little portable putting greens. Rubik's cubes. Crosswords, but not Sudoku. Impromptu games of basketball played with the trash can and important memos. Paper airplanes. When he's not stuck in the office, Robin will happily play billiards or snooker or poker. He's a huge fan of football (not American football) and follows the sport rabidly.
7. Does he play games? What kind?
Robin adores games of chance and should probably never be allowed to go to Las Vegas. He doesn't play football right now, but I wouldn't rule it out from ever happening.
8. Does he like to eat or drink? How important to him are food and drink?
Robin eats more out of habit than anything else. He's much more interested in drinking.
9. How important is sex to him? What sexual activities does he partake in? Anything unusual?
Robin enjoys sex a good deal, but for him the journey trumps the destination: flirting with someone and getting them into bed is just as fun as the actual sex itself. He's essentially pansexual in terms of orientation. Name the kink, and he's probably tried it at least once.
10. Is his exactitude about sex healthy or disturbing to him? Is sex a rewarding, enriching part of this person's life or is it frightening, anxious, or frustrating? Is sex a positive or negative factor in his life?
Sex is generally positive but not incredibly so. Robin doesn't attach a whole lot of weight, or thought, to it.

1. Colors? Blue, white, gold, green.
2. Food? Curry or Thai.

11. Kinds of music? Pretty much everything. He's fondest of classic rock though-- Bowie, Lou Reed, etc
12. Musical Instruments? Pretty much everything, again, but his favorite is guitar
13. Composers? Mozart
14. Metals? Gold and silver
15. Building materials? Brick or stone

Character's Religion
1. What are his specific religious beliefs? Does he belong to a specific sect or creed? Does he advocate that group's beliefs?
Robin has none, in the sense of no personal faith he adheres to. He acknowledges the existence of quite a few gods, spirits, etc.
2. How important is religion to him?
Religion? Not at all. Belief? Quite.
3. Is he pious, devout?
See #1.
4. In what religious activities does he engage? What percentage of his time is devoted to it?
None.
5. How does religion motivate his actions or affect them?
None.
Character's Fears
1. What things frighten him?
Ceasing to exist, or ceasing at least to exist at the same level of individual consciousness he has become accustomed to
2. Is he motivated by fear?
Much of the time
3. To what extent is he motivated; never, occasionally, usually, constantly?
Well, his continued survival is pretty much the basic imperative force of his existence, so...
4. What would this character think were the three most terrible things that could happen to him?
a. Fading away from his current sentient state into a mere 'influence'
b. Returning to Faerie (and Titania, and Auberon)
c. Pimples
5. What would he think were the three most wonderful things that could happen to him?
a. Signing David Bowie
b. Single-handedly sorting out this 'illegal' media downloading mess to everyone's satisfaction
c. Induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame
6. What is the one thing he doesn't want anyone to find out about him?
Like he'd let me put that down.
