Ready your breakfast and eat hearty... For tonight, we dine in hell!
Yep, that's right, last night was my date night. I picked either the Reaping or 300. And then I thought about it... Lena Headey and Gerard Butler or Hillary Swank. Obvious choice, Lena and Gerard. And as usual, Gerard Butler picked a phenomenal movie. He picks the most amazing roles and brings SO much character to them. And then, well, the critics give him shit and call his movies trash. Yea, well, fuck you critics.
If you haven't seen it - you must. It's a war movie that's done completely with a green screen, obviously it has to be to be set back in the time where Sparta "ruled" Greece. The cinematography is a cross between Sin City and a Japanese horror flick. It's grotesque, but not too much; it's definitely not like Gangs of New York, which I will never ever watch.
The lines are very eloquently spoken. The lines are written the way I would want them to be. The wit, the sarcasam, and the brilliance that exudes from King Leonidas. Wow. Of course the Queen has some amazing lines too.
The fighting was stunning. Seriously, absolutely beautiful. They slowed some important scenes down to show the fighting better.
Now for me talk:
Mmm, Lena Headey. Did I mention that she's naked for like a whole scene?
The Persian king is a HOMO! Like they picked the biggest buffest drag queen and said, hey we need you to play the ruler of Persia. Lmoa, seriously... and all the gold paint on him with the gold chains and rings in his face. At one point I said, all to loudly, "He loves dick in his ass." Lol. And it's evident that they did it on purpose because of the few of the lines he's hinting to King Leonidas that he's hot for him. I'm like, EWW!
Gerard Butler stays true to his origin, always picking worthy films. YES Dracula 2 was a worthy film... it's one of my favorites. This movie def goes down on my favorite all time list.
