IC INFO:
Character name: Estellise Sidos Heurassein
Fandom: Tales of Vesperia
Age: 18
Appearance: Average height and build for a female video game character: 5'5 and maybe ~120lbs; open, young-looking face with wide green eyes and shoulder-length pink hair; she wears a white princess dress trimmed with yellow and a pink/purple underskirt, making her look a bit like a flower.
Canon point: Post-game
Cause of Death: Tragic jet-packing accident.
Abilities:
Estelle has been trained in sword play by the same instructors as have taught the royal knights, so she is reasonably skilled, if unpracticed. She is also a powerful white mage, and knows several offensive and defensive white magic spells, as well as several individual and multi-target healing spells.
Estelle also a deep love of learning, and an encyclopedic memory to compliment it. She can recall almost any bit of information she's ever read in deep detail, and frequently quotes it back to her companions.
Background:
Estelle was raised in the royal capital, and in fact had never left the palace at all before the game's protagonist, Yuri Lowell, ran into her as he was escaping prison. Her only means of exploring was consuming a large number of books on every topic she could get her hands on, making her both incredibly knowledgeable but also very naïve, with very little practical knowledge or application for any of her skills.
During the course of the game she learns and grows immensely, both as a person and in skills, though she always keeps a bit of that naivety and wonder for the world.
Estelle is also a living blastia - one of the mystical constructs that all technology is based off of - it gives her a boost in her energy and skills. Blastia are an ancient technology, but the way the current society has put them to use is damaging the environment. (For more/better summary of blastia, please see the
wiki). Estelle is sought after to be used as a living weapon, and has to come to terms both with her own destructive power and the harm she inherently causes to the world, just by existing.
Personality:
Estelle is open and caring, and incredibly earnest. She loves exploration and learning, as well as meeting new people and making friends. She is the type of person who wants to see the best in the people around her and support them as best she's able.
While she can sometimes be frustratingly indecisive, once she makes up her mind to do something it is very hard to dissuade her from her path. Sometimes her excitement gets her so caught up that she doesn't notice how she, rather selfishly, sweeps other people along in her wake; though she is also very remorseful in compensation, if that selfishness is ever pointed out to her.
Estelle has a very strong sense of justice, and will pursue it rather ruthlessly; she hates to see anyone taken advantage of or mistreated, and believes the purpose of government is to protect the people. Her naivety contributes to the confusion and indignation she can feel when this standard is not met, but that only increases her resolve to see things set right.

1st Person Sample:
Oh, this is so incredible. Of course, I've read about this sort of thing, but I never thought I'd be in the position to use such impressive word-processing technology! It seems like the sort of thing that only very important people and scientists would have access to. It's a great honor. I'll have to make sure to say something very meaningful, in that case.
...But then, I can't really think of anything that meaningful to say. Gosh... the pressure is incredible. Oh-- what should I do? Well... for now, I hope this will do:
To everyone reading: hello! It's very nice to meet you. I look forward to learning this new technology together, and I think we'll have a lot of fun. Let's all work hard to process words together!

IC Character Survey:
1. Do you have any nicknames, street names, titles, or aliases?
Oh, yes! Please, just call me Estelle.
2. What is your full birth name?
My full name is Estellise Sidos Heurassein, though very few people call me that. Usually it was just 'Lady Estellise'...
3. Where do you live?
In Royal Capital of Zaphias, on the world Terca Lumereis; I grew up in the castle, but I... I guess I don't know if I want to keep living there. For now, though, it's my home.
4. Give a two or three word description of yourself.
Um... "Moving Forward".
5. What do you perceive as your greatest strength?
I'm a very quick learner, and very good at remembering things. It's not the same as like Yuri, who can just pick things up by watching and doing them-but I'll get there one day, too, if I just try hard enough.
6. What do you perceive as your greatest weakness?
I-I... There are so many things I still don't know. The world is a much larger place than I'd ever imagined. I want to help people, but how can I help them if I don't even know how or why they're suffering? There's so much more I need to learn. I need... to grow up, a little.
7. Do you have any dreams or ambitions? What are they? If not, why?
I want to-to keep traveling, for as long as I can; I'd like to see the whole world, one day.
8. How would you like to be remembered after your death?
Hm... as someone who did her honest best to make the world a nicer place, even just in little ways. A-Although, I don't need to be famous. I'd be happy if my friends remembered me fondly...
9. If your features were to be destroyed beyond recognition, is there any other way of identifying your body?
Wh-What a scary question. ...I-I guess... if someone like Rita were there, she might be able to read my formula, and tell it was me...?
10. Do you, or did you, have any role models?
Oh, lots of them! First, I would say that Rita is my role model! She's so smart and cool-she was already a famous researcher by the time she was ten! And she's definitely confident. I'd like to be as confident as Rita.
Yuri, too-he's a little clumsy sometimes, and not good at expressing his feelings... but it's easy to tell that he's actually a very good person. He's so good at helping other people, even at the cost of his own safety. I want to be as selfless and as good at him, one day.
Oh, and Judith, of course-she's very independent, and doesn't let anyone push her around! She can be a little harsh sometimes, but she's never unreasonable. She says what really needs to be said! I want to learn to be as level headed and as good at looking at a situation as Judith.
And Flynn, of course... he's so responsible and hard-working! Like Yuri, he does his very best to help people, no matter what it costs him. I'd like to be like that, and also, I'd like to have a friend of my own as close as Yuri and Flynn are.
11. How do you generally treat others?
"Treat others the way you want to be treated", isn't it? If it were me, I'd want to be treated kindly, with understanding.
12. Do you trust easily (perhaps too easily) or not?
Ah... maybe a little too easily after all. I know everyone has their reasons, but I can't understand wanting to just deceive people... it would be nice if we could all just talk to one another honestly.
13. Do you act differently than you feel (concealing your true thoughts)?
Er... I don't think so..? Of course, sometimes when I feel sad, I wouldn't like to worry my friends, so I don't bring it up. But I don't think I'm the only person who does that.
14. What habits would you find most annoying in friends?
O-Oh... I don't really want to call my friends annoying, but... it would be nice if they wouldn't bicker quite so much, sometimes...
15. How do others typically react to you? Why, in your opinion, do they act that way?
React to me? Hm... I can't say for sure. I-I don't really pay very much attention to that sort of thing. Oh! But, I've made so many friends, that I guess most people react to me with kindness. It's like I said above - treat others the way you want to be treated. So they're probably just reacting to the way I treat them.
16. Do you like food mild or heavily spiced?
Hm, I'm not sure I like one over the other, but when cooking I've been trying to experiment with all sorts of different spices. It makes cooking fun, and almost like an adventure!
17. Are there any specific foodstuffs that you find disgusting or refuse to eat?
I-I try not to refuse to eat anything, since it's important to get a balanced diet and to stay well-fed so you have the proper energy... but I'm not very fond of sukiyaki...
18. If you have a favorite scent, what is it?
...The scent of blossoms in full bloom. It's a lovely scent, and it's sort of... my first important memory of my journey.
19. Do you believe in god(s) or not?
I've met a few beings now who are probably the closest to gods as we have-they might even have been worshiped as gods, in the old days. I think there are many things in the world that are mysterious and hard to explain, but that doesn't mean they don't exist.
20. Can you kill?
...I can. I've been getting much better at fighting, lately. I don't think I'll ever get the same kind of joy out of it as Yuri or Judith, but I like the feeling of giving me all. And I know if I don't fight, I'll just end up getting hurt myself.
