I thought it was pretty good. My interest in the series is losing steam, I think. I blame HBP. But the movie was pretty good, and it was the first time in ages that I'd seen most of the people I saw it with. And I ran into a couple of guys from school, which was awesome. Sitting in the second row of the theatre wasn't that great, though, and it made my neck sore. I couldn't follow the Daily Prophet sequences as well as I would've liked because I couldn't quite see everything at the same time. As...someone, I think Sean or Brie pointed out, saved a bunch of money on Omnimax tickets and got pretty much the same experience! I loved the Dumbledore's Army sequences, and got a laugh out of the Mistletoe of Lust. Though as some people have pointed out, it should have been heckling them. There was also some really subtle thing when Snape mentions using the Veratiserum on Cho that I really liked, but I can't put my finger on what exactly it was. It'll have to wait until I see it again, probably going after work on Saturday with my family. Luna was amazing, she was so perfectly out there. It's the little things that made it, the radish earings and cork necklace. I also ...loved isn't the word I want, really. XD Loved to loathe? Umbridge. She was so perfectly horrid. And so very, very pink. The quill scene was a little underwhelming though, I thought. It was such a great scene in the book. The effects weren't as great as I would've liked for the centaurs, and I missed the individualization of them. There's no real reason to think that they are anything but what Umbridge says they are in the movie. The cry of pain was so animalistic, and their faces aren't really visible. I honestly didn't remember the bit at the end when Harry was possessed by Voldemort. This could be both because I was in shock over Sirius's death when I read it, and it was probably getting on eight in the morning when I got to that part. I don't think I've actually sat and read the later books since they came out. Yes, I'm a bad fan. Sirius's death is just as disappointing in the movie as in the book. He trips and OOPS! He's gone, body and all. I'm waiting for some big reveal in the seventh book where he comes back from beyond the veil and kicks some ass. I know I'm setting myself up for disappointment. Speaking of disappointment, where was Draco? He's such a lovely little brat and he barely got two lines together. I liked that he was wearing the same suit in the beginning as Voldemort was wearing when Harry saw him in the station. The black on black on black suit. Which is a really good look on Draco, with how pale he is and the blond hair. The whole final battle of the movie was kind of weird, with the teleporting around and why were the members of the Order glowing? Sirius saying "Nice one, James!" to Harry was really sad on one hand, since he and James were so close and Sirius is about to die and all that, but on the other hand, I swear I remember someone saying the same thing during Snape's memory while his younger self was being flipped upside-down in the air. Which was probably the younger Sirius. And the younger Marauders were kind of assholes.
I might write more when I've seen the move again. Apologies if none of that made much sense, it's random stream-of-conciousness rambling and it's really late.
In other news, my brothers want me to DM a game of D&D for them. ...Um. I agreed, if only to keep my pychotic little younger brother from attempting it. Inexperienced or not, that's a terrifying thought. I'm threatening to make him play either a Paladin, or a Cleric of a Lawful Good god. I've had to tell him several times already that he's not allowed to charge for healings.
It was my big little brother's birthday yesterday. It was also our community day at Kennywood, so we were there all day. It only poured the once, and the weather cleared up really nice after that. I made the mistake of actually making an old pair of pants into shorts to wear there, and now my sister is going through and getting clothes of hers that need fixed so that I can so them for her. >_< I'm proud of the job I did on her hoodie, though.
Did a 'What Harry Potter House Are You In?' and 'What Hybrid HP House Are You In,' and got Ravenclaw and Slytherpuff. Ravenclaw and Hufflepuff I was expecting, Slytherin not so much.
I think that's all I have to say for now. G'night.
