I have a life? Since when?

I've been busy enough that I haven't had much time for computer access! What have I been doing?

A huge group of us -- eight in all -- went to see Pirates of the Caribbean last Saturday. Three of us had tried to go Friday, but alas, the show was sold out. Saturday, 2000irises had learned from our error and reserved us tickets. We had so much fun. akarui_rynka and I sat by each other, and I made lots of OT3 remarks and was quite happy on the Elizabeth/Jack front. I also made Davy Jones/Cthulu OTP (and /Kracken OT3) remarks, but let's not get into that...

I saw Man of La Mancha! With rebekah_3 Which was good! Really cool staging, lovely singing, and omg still dark! And my friend was in it! And she was mighty sexy, lounging about in the Spanish prison! And she got me a free ticket! So, double-cool! /excessive use of exclamation marks

Yesterday, I got all my magazine-related shelving and receiving done. For the first time in forever. Also, it was raining buckets, so the store was rather empty in the morning, and I got to listen to the manager -- the amazing rebekah_3 herself -- giving a customer crochet lessons, which was simply awesome.

At the end of my very good workday, I managed to be out on the floor at just the right time to hear rebekah_3 say "Alma Alexander." Honestly, I didn't even hear the context, just the name. I was with a customer, so although I did a very good mercat impression, I didn't actually see who she was talking to. I assumed it was one of our chic lit readers, or maybe a customer I'd spoken to before. But when I tracked her down, she was still talking with our nearest neighbor store's manager. Who is reading and LOVING The Secrets of Jin-Shei, and who heard about it from yet another store's manager. Which, YAY! I am expecting a mini-boom of local interest!

And since she's liking SoJS so much, I really, really should read Misfortune, which I OWN and she'd recommended to me before, but I haven't gotten to yet. Woe.

There was the open-house, house-warming party. During which I made nice with people I don't really know. There was the lunch and shopping. During which I made friends with people I sort of knew. There was another Fullmetal Alchemist viewing. During which I saw past the part I'd seen in order. (Best snark of the evening-- me: He's been going to Evil Overlord School. watchersprout: He's been going to Ignorance School. me: Same thing. watchersprout: Equivalent exchange of ignorance.) There was the (unintentional) bad movie night. During which we mocked Ultraviolet and were gladdened that we hadn't gotten around to go to see it in theatre. (Best snark of the evening -- who could pick? So much fodder...)

And I've been reading The Sociopath Next Door, and as it turns out, I am probably NOT a sociopath! Man, I'm never going to be cool. The book is a decent read, but so far not as amazing as my sis lead me to believe. So far.

So, all in all, I'm having a really good week, which I gather has not been the norm.

friends, coal mine, sis, books, movies, random
