Now you know why we didn't all jump at the chance to watch it at E&D's before Sith. That's a movie to be watched on fast forward, or like on dvd when you can just pick the good tracks... or at least the one's where Lucas' cornball lines don't drive you up a wall too badly. But hey...they were bad in the originals too.
Yeah, I only borrowed it so that I can go see III, which I've been promised is better. Not that it would take much. :P
I honestly don't remember the cornball lines being that bad in the originals. (C3-PO: This is such a drag... I'm beside myself... C'mon, I'd remember something that bad.) Though whiny-ness definitely runs in the Skywalker family.
So the writing got cornier over the past what 20+ years. That and Lucas' was kinda stupid when he decided to split his idea for the backstory into three parts. Eps I and II got 20% each, and the remaining 60 went into III...though that sadly made it too long and certain things that I will discuss AFTER you've watched the movie had to be cut from the aired film.
WAAAAAAAH...It's been three weeks now since I've seen it. I must watch it again...
