I have the best ethnography ever.
Better than Coming of Age in New Jersey. (Not a typo. Jersey.)
Better than Veiled Sentiments. (Which really is quite good, and I recommend for anyone interested in positive portrayals of Middle Eastern/Islamic culture.)
Better than Permitted and Prohibited Desires: Mothers, Comics and Censorship in Japan. (Which, although interesting in points, is rather heavy reading.)
I am now the proud owner of a copy of Enterprising Women: Television Fandom and the Creation of Popular Myth by Camille Bacon-Smith.
Think about that title for a moment.
That's right: it's an ethnography of SCI-FI FANDOM. I love anthropology. I love Camille Bacon-Smith. I love my life.
