The good stuff
Hey up, LJ. New year, back again.
At about this time last year, I read a post here on LJ which I'm pretty sure was written by
Maviscruet about good things. If memory serves, he'd seen something similar on FB about making a note each week of something good that had happened and sticking it in a jar, then reviewing them at the end of the year.
So I did. Or more accurately, I did it until about June-ish when I seem to have then promptly forgotten all about it. Still, I tried, and going through them all a couple of days ago was fun. I tried to write down something that had made me smile, or was cool, or I'd enjoyed, or was just good.
So here it is. These are my 2014 Good Things - with a couple from Kat, too.
In the order I've pulled them out of the jar. Damn the OCD.

11-05-2014 City beating West Ham 2-0 and winning the Premier League. Again. :)
05-03-2014 Lunch in a Berber House on the roof terrace with three hundred and sixty degree views
14-03-2014 Finished Breaking Bad. Skinny Pete and Badger with the laser pens. Brilliant!
06-03-2014 The security guard with the geocache in the gardens of the Koutoubia mosque
07-06-2014 Red, white and blue flowers from Kat
08-01-2014 Finding Whitespace and Werewolf. Crossing the footbridge.
17-01-2014 Jodie + Deb + Phil + Margaret + Georgina + Hannah all being so supportive after a crap Friday late shift, then a text from Tony - "It's a pleasure working with you."
02-03-2014 City coming from behind to beat Sunderland 3-1 in the League Cup Final

I wish I'd carried on throughout the year. I resolve to try harder this year!
In my defence, the second half of the year was pretty rough and when the slide begins it's hard to see the good through the enveloping grey/black. I'm on the up again now though and will definitely try harder this year.
Each of those little notes on bits of paper mean something to me. I can explain them all, if anyone would like clarification. Just reading them made me smile. But none more than the one
expoduck wrote laughing about United getting beat by MK Dons. Proof I've converted her, despite her arguments to the contrary. :)
