Sometime in early October I had gone to the doctor to get a refill on birth control, as i had been informed last year that my visits to the women's center can now happen once every two years. I was told all i needed was to have a quick physical to get my prescription refilled. So i walked in expecting nothing out of the ordinary only to have my blood pressure taken and find out that it was 155/115. After having a crap ton of tests taken and conferring with the doctors I was told I needed to go on high blood pressure meds. I talked to my mom who was at the time on high blood pressure meds and she told me to do what the doctor said. After talking to another doctor, i was given a choice, take the meds or change my diet. I decided to forgo the medication and try the diet. not following it strictly, but making sure i really monitored my sodium intake. Today my blood pressure is down to 133/75. In the course of 4 months I managed to lower my blood pressure a lot.
So now it's time for the next step. Now that I've reached my first health goal my next one is to lose some weight. I will admit some of it is out of vanity, as I'm sick and tired of going shopping and having to spend five hours looking for stuff that may/or may not look good on me. And as much as i like Torrid and lane Bryant, I don't like having to pay a premium just so they can add an extra few inches of fabric to a dress so it'll fit me. I'm not looking to lose drastic amounts of weight, in fact, I think 15-20 lbs may be sufficient for my goal, which is to try to get that systolic number down and at least get back to pre-stress year weight. At my pre-stress year weight I'd still be obese by health standards, but at least I'd be a little less obese. I'm trying to Wii -fit, I'm trying to EA Sports and i can't get hooked to weither, so I'm going to resort to old fashion roller blading in the morning to music before going to work. Wish me luck
