GENERAL
[Name:] Rhoda Teneiro
[Age:] 24 (Born January 18, 1995)
[Gender:] Female
[Marital Status:] Single
[Sexuality:] Straight
[Occupation:] Chief Flight Attendant at iFly Airlines. Also designs psychedelic jets on the side.
[Ladder Preference:] Professionally speaking, it is whatever pleases the customer. iFly Airlines has a strict policy stating that the customer is always right unless they are suspected of murder. Personally speaking, it's a ladder and nothing else.
CONNECTIONS
[Family:] Robert and Beatrice Teneiro: Rhoda cares deeply for her parents. She grew up the middle sister of three (Tabatha and Penelope, her older and young sisters respectively) and had a very tame, uneventful childhood.
Her father is a retired geography teacher who gave her a globe on her 12th birthday. He told her stories of the many countries he’s taught about but has never visited himself. He insisted she broaden her horizon by traveling the world and was a large influence as to why she became a flight attendant. Her father has always been her biggest supporter when it came to her designs. Unfortunately, it was not until years later that they found out he was in fact color-blind. However by then it was already too late. Rhoda had already been inspired by a perfect palette of shocking! colors.
Her mother is a nurse who could be a bit over-bearing at times. She voiced concern for Rhoda’s safety when she was told her daughter aspired to become a flight attendant. Her mother believes to this day that if Rhoda wants to assist people for a living, it should be in the medical field helping the sick recover instead of on an unsafe airplane serving drinks to ungrateful passengers.
Rhoda most likely inherited her stubbornness from her mother and eccentric style from her father. Her sisters are both married and have families of their own. They tell Rhoda she should start thinking about settling down soon as well.
[Friends:] Rhoda has been quite busy with work lately and does not have much of a social life. Many of her childhood friends, including Amy her best friend from high school, have gotten married and are busy with their own lives. One drawback of being a flight attendant is her unreliable schedule that puts strain on any relationship. She hasn’t had a day off on a holiday or her birthday for as long as she can recall. Her dedication to her job makes it even harder for her to go out and mingle with other people.
[Enemies:]
Cammy Melee: Rhoda is not the type to harbor grudges but Cammy would be the closest thing to an enemy that she’s got. Although they were never close friends, Rhoda was shocked to be framed by her co-worker and it hurt deeply. Not only did Cammy try to pin the crime on her, but she used one of her beloved suitcases to transport a dead body! Cammy knew exactly how much time and money Rhoda invested in those suitcases, and yet for her to use one in such an atrocious manner was the biggest betrayal of them all.
Rhoda later learned on the news of the frightening underground crime ring and Cammy’s surprising involvement in it. She will never fully understand what drove Cammy to commit cold-blooded murder but hopes she will repent and learn from her mistakes.
[Other:]
Miles Edgeworth: Ever since their fateful encounter last month, 9,000 feet in the air, Rhoda has taken a liking to the stern prosecutor who saw through all her bluffs. She felt guilty for accusing him of murder so in order to make up for it, she lied about getting permission from the Captain to let him investigate the crime scene and prove his innocence. He seemed genuinely grateful for her little white lie and this made her very happy. As a flight attendant she often feels under-appreciated, and it was nice to be properly thanked for a change.
Edgeworth is also the first person to ever tell her to her face without sparing her feelings that her suitcase design is downright hideous. Upon reflection, she’s come to appreciate his honest opinion no matter how much it shocked her at the time. She does not have a clue how the man feels about her, but she would definitely like to get to know him better if given the chance. Her heart flutters at the mere thought of Mr. Edgeworth using one of her prized suitcases as a faithful companion on his many business trips.
Soon after the incident, Rhoda was issued a subpoena requesting her appearance in court as a witness to the case. However since Cammy pleaded guilty to the crime, plans did not fall through. Rhoda was disappointed when she found out because she had secretly looked forward to seeing the handsome prosecutor once again. Rhoda abides by her strict policy not to date passengers, but she's willing to bend the rule just a little bit for Mr. Edgeworth.
Franziska von Karma: The whip she carries is more than intimidating but fortunately Rhoda was spared of its wrath. Ms. von Karma seems to be very good at her job and has a passion that Rhoda can admire and relate to. However Rhoda was borderline traumatized when she was suddenly put under arrest at Franziska’s command. Simply put, Franziska is not someone Rhoda is excited to cross paths with again.
Dick Gumshoe: Apparently the burly man in green that tagged behind Mr. Edgeworth and Ms. von Karma is a detective. He seemed more like a burden than any actual help and didn’t seem to do much besides act as target practice for Franziska’s whip. Rhoda does not care much for someone who is not capable of their appointed job.
Zinc Lablanc II: No matter how difficult a passenger can be, he is still a valued customer and must be treated with utmost respect. Rhoda has dealt with a countless amount of jerks through her career and Lablanc is no exception.
Shi-Long Lang: He is a frequent flier on routes to and from Zheng Fa. Although she is careful to remember each frequent flier’s face, she especially remembers Lang because of the rather large entourage he often travels with. Although he seems a bit wild, Lang has always been civil with her and has never given her any trouble. Lang seems to have great control over every single one of his men, even providing her a compiled list of each of their favorite drinks before every flight. This is something she can appreciate especially when all 99 of them are packed in a crowded plane miles over the ocean. She doesn’t even want to imagine how chaotic and disorganized it could be otherwise.
Shih-na: Shi-Long Lang’s silent, trusted assistant used to always be seen at the man’s side. Rhoda has noticed they do not travel together anymore which she finds quite curious. Yet it is her policy as a service professional not to pry into passenger’s personal business so she does not inquire why. She feels Lang looks noticeably lonely in the absence of his assistant even when he is accompanied by his other loyal men.
Klavier Gavin: She remembers the charming young man from a flight from Germany. He must have been at least half her age but was confident enough to hit on her--something she found rather flattering, but of course refused to show it. A few minutes later she saw him flirting with another flight attendant and felt a bit putout.
Captain: Only has ears for Cammy. Therefore can’t be trusted.
CHARACTER
[General personality:] Rhoda is a proud person. She takes her job very seriously and is very passionate about her work. She is not one to stray outside her chosen path. At first glance, she may seem uptight or narrow minded but if convincingly proven wrong, she will relent and begin to see things your way. She can sometimes become stubbornly stuck in her ways, a flaw that has recently been brought to her attention and she hopes to work on, but old habits die hard. Rhoda is attempting to be more open-minded and she’s making gradual progress by taking baby steps. She has started trying new foods and experimenting with different color schemes in her designs, but she’s still got a long way to go until she can truly call herself flexible.
She only means the best of intentions but Rhoda tends to jump to conclusions, sometimes a bit too hastily. When flustered or in panic, she loses the ability to think straight and often says things that don’t make much sense (such as asking a dead body to speak up).
Keeping up appearances is very important to Rhoda. When her suitcase was chosen to be put up for sale in the in-flight Gift Shop she was absolutely thrilled (but the truth is, she was the only person who bothered to enter the contest and only won by default). When she realized none of them were selling (due to a fatal combination of ugliness and cost) she took manners into her own hands. She bought a suitcase after each flight to at least make it seem like they were popular. Spending 1,200 dollars per flight has taken a toll on her wallet, yet it was a sacrifice she willingly took in order to conceal the fact that her designs were a total dud.
The life of a flight attendant is not as glamorous as it’s made out to be. The hours spent constantly scuttling about a plane at high altitude takes a toll on her feet. She looks forward to her strict daily regimen of soaking them in a tub of water and spending hours in front of the TV with her feet propped up or in a massager.
Rhoda is not fond of animals and small children. She's learned to deal with children because her job often demands it of her, but she tends to avoid all animals alike whenever possible. She was bitten by her neighbor's rabbit when she was a little girl, and the trauma caused by those red, beady eyes, and fluffy tail, lingers to this day.
[Appearance:] When at work she looks just as she appeared in AAI:Case 2.
Overall, Rhoda is a classy lady except for one little thing--her sense of style.
When not at work, she does not always keep her hair up in a (square) bun. Her hair is quite long, reaching just above her bellybutton and she usually leaves it down.
She is very prim and proper on duty, checking her hair and make-up at least once every hour. She is significantly more relaxed at home and does not bother gussying up on her days off.
[Background:] Rhoda grew up in an average family in an average neighborhood and thus far led a pretty average life. Up until recently she has been fortunate enough not to experience any major disasters in her life, but she has not had any groundbreaking achievements either. Things were thrown considerably off course after her involvement in the Tunrabout Airlines case.
Rhoda was pleasantly surprised when she was given a week of paid leave after her “traumatic” experience while on duty. Not really knowing what to do with so much newly acquired time, Rhoda took the opportunity to catch up on much needed rest and went on a two-day vacation to Guam, marking it the first trip she’s ever taken by plane that was not work related. With that over with and some time to spare, she set up an online store to sell the remaining suitcases deemed un-sellable that cluttered her small one-bedroom apartment. To her astonishment they sold like pancakes after all the publicity received from the case. Seeing gold, iFly Airlines promptly offered Rhoda the opportunity of her lifetime by putting her in charge of designing their new line of jumbo jets.
Rhoda has regained a great deal of confidence during such a short period of time. She continues to enjoy her duty as a service professional while on the side pursues her other passion, design. Rhoda is at a very happy place in her life right now.
