a tiny exam observation

You know, I never seriously thought about it this way before, but writing timed essays is exercise. In the sense that you need to be physically prepared for it (not, sadly, in the sense of actually being healthy). I did my first Exam Circumstance practice exam yesterday (no notes, stricly to time) and my hand wanted to go die afterwards. I did another one today, and I don't feel quite so miserable. Maybe I can manage two tomorrow!

(For perspective: Oxon essay exams are 3 hours long, three essays, and the average should be about 5 sides of A4 per essay. That means pretty constant writing for 3 hours, which I'm sort of worried might be giving me the Victorian equivalent of carpal tunnel syndrome.)
