Gloria Steinem is an internationally recognized author, editor and feminist activist. She co-founded Ms. Magazine in 1972, and helped to found New York magazine, where she was a featured political columnist. Ms. Steinem also helped to found the Women's Action Alliance and the National Women's Political Caucus, among numerous other political committees and organizations. She founded Take Our Daughters to Work Day, and is currently working on a project to document the grassroots origins of the U.S women's movement
