La.
1. I'm from Iceland but now live in Victoria, Canada, where I go to university - pretending to be a third year transfer student (even if the school doesn't agree).
2. Here I live with
cirakaite and
kerrikins and two cats, Cai and Nadia :D
3. My family is insane and best kept on the other side of the atlantic. All 7 of them. My parents can't decide whether to stay married or divorced and have been in some sort of a limbo there inbetween for the last 3-4 years or so. I have 4 younger siblings and one older half brother. And a cat! Who last time I knew all still lived together. Oh wait, I lie. I think they moved out last week. Or something. The limbo again, you see.
4. I am very glad I don't live there now.
5. I suffer from chronic procrastination disorder, perhaps best seen by how I'm updating LJ instead of finishing the paper that's due in a couple of hours (and should technically be in economics class right now but it was boring so I left). It causes me great distress and on my marks as well, as I am simply unable to have anything done on time. That also includes returning videos on time, mailing back the documents that I *did* get ready three weeks ago back to iceland so I can get my student loans on time, get a driver's licence... yeah.
6. I am broker than broke. That doesn't make me a broker, though. Randomly, brók in icelandic means knickers. I have a few of those.
7. I used to talk all the time and update lj all the time, driving everyone insane, but have been remarkably antisocial and boring lately, as seen by my lj. I'll probably end up taking this entry down in a couple of hours as well.
8. I obsess over music. As in - I find something new (or old) and get completely hooked and addicted, for a period of usually somewhere between a couple of days and a couple of months. I am also (apparently) a music snob and only listen to whacked out crazy alternative indie stuff like Modest Mouse, Arcade Fire, Interpol, Tori Amos, etc, and refuse to give anything popish a try. Except when I do. But I iron my ears afterwards. Except when I don't. Right now it's Rent. And it's beginning to snow....
9. ... hm. Yes, english is my second language. It doesn't really affect me that much any more, except when my polisci teacher speaks really fast and unclear and doesn't breathe, but that's apparently not just me - everyone has problems understanding him. I am also unable to *not* speak up in class. Even when I haven't done the readings. Especially when I haven't done the readings. The readings just confuse me. Which is why I'm going to die on monday when I have a politheory final. *flails*
10. Despite being from Iceland and now being in a much nicer climate I'm always cold. *wears three sweaters* But the thing is? I'm also always cold in Iceland. So there.
11. oh, and I'm gay. And female. And single. And 21. And studying polisci at UVic. I move around a lot now, I lived for a semester in Washington D.C. where I studied foreign policy for a whole lot of money and had a lot of fun, but now I can't get the credits from there evaluated so it was just something that's going to look good on my resume and makes me a second year uni student instead of third year. Then I moved to Middle of Nowhere in Iceland, on top of a mountain where I cleaned bathrooms and changed beds for 6 months. Then I came here. I used to be all about fandom but now I couldn't care less. Possibly because I don't have a computer (it's been gone for two weeks tomorrow!!) and restrict my online time to schoolwork. Or I'm just bored of it. Who knows.
Anything I'm forgetting?
12. I want my computer back.
13. And it's beginning to snow... *headsings because I'm in a boring computer lab on a crappy chair*
14. I like to chew on headphone cords. Would probably ruin most of mine except the cats usually manage to get them first.
15. Oh, and I'm still not really reading my friends list. The whole no-computer thing, you see. And busy-school thing, too. Sortof.
edit: oooooh it's snowing!! like, actually snowing! :D :D Right here on campus!
