On a lighter note, the new Bring Me the Horizon album is surprisingly good. In fact it's about as good as hardcore gets. The first three songs - "The Comedown", "Chelsea Smile" and "It Was Written in Blood" are fucking incredible - the perfect mix of melody, mosh, samples and those Slipknot styled guitar sounds. I also got Confession's EP which isn't my thing, but has a Frenzal Rhomb cover of "Ship Of Beers" which makes me laugh heaps.
I also picked up Bjork's "Homogenic" album last week. It's so cute. She is actually the cutest thing thats ever lived and I'm in love with her. She's like the worlds cutest monkey in human form.
Beastie Boys "Check Your Head" is an album I have revisted heaps too. When I was kid i'd fast forward through the album to songs like "Pass the Mic", "Professor Booty" and "The Maestro" and ignore all the weird instrumentals and jazz tinged songs. Now I listen through the whole album and am just in awe at how they can make hardcore, rap, jazz, funk, and rock all blend together on the same album without it sounding at all awkward. Fucking great record.
MGMT and Miami Horror's new records are also pretty special. Both make things feel nice and colourful without getting you too involved. Makes it easier to drift away.
