I was doing some thinking after talking to some people, and then did some investigating. Though I’d might post it up here for you to read you like. Not that I’m asking you to read it! Just, um..well..
What if I fell to the floor
Couldn't take all this anymore
What would you do, do, do?
I was looking up definitions, to find the precise dictionary of some certain words and they differed from my own opinions, and lacked pictures. One of the words didn’t even show up in my dictionary, so more investigation was needed. I’ll start with that one.
Don't you mess with a little girl's dream
'Cause she's liable to grow up mean
So, my first word was asshole. The dictionary didn’t have it but aside from it’s very literal definition - it’s a compound word. Ass means either a donkey or your butt, and hole is clearly…hole. Either way it’s not very nice, when translated and that’s probably why it’s a swear. However it’s usually referred to as someone who’s awful, and worse than a jerk. On a scale, I believe it comes after. (Though I think it’s at the end, because I can’t really think of a word worse than that…)
Surprised you to find that I'm laughing?
You thought that you'd find me in tears
You thought I'd be crawling the walls
Like a tiny mosquito and trembling in fear…
In my opinion, the word asshole should be reserved to only the worst of people then. These are the criminals of this world and the former one - murderers, and kidnappers are good examples. I don’t quite think thievery falls under there, nor does terror crimes. But it must be noted that if you are an asshole, you are automatically a jerk. It’s a correlation or something like that. However, I guess it has to be noted that on the term ‘murderers’ I include those who are directly responsible. Such as someone who gave the orders.
Next word, is jerk I think this is for someone who has little empathy and is rude. Or does bad things for no reason other than enjoying it. The dictionary’s definition normally refers of the action of jerking something. When referring to a noun, it has to do with a type of preserved meat known more as jerky.
While you were looking the other way
While you had your eyes closed
While you were licking your lips
'Cause I was miserable
While you were selling your soul
While you were tearing a hole in me
But that’s not what I’m referring to. There’s no images of things associated with fear or anything like that. I’m keeping my definition.
I was taking control
Now I have taken control…
Next up is betrayal. There were no images accompanying this either. I expected at least two. Betrayal is the act of betraying. The definition of betray is ‘to aid an enemy of; be a traitor to’. I think the word traitor works very well, but I think some other things have to be thought about. Giving misleading information, and fooling someone I think has to do with it. I think.
I am finished with you.
Why would anyone want to hang out with a traitor? They’re usually deranged anyway.
Look in my eyes
You're killing me, killing me
All I wanted was you
Second to last, is the word empathy. The definition according to the dictionary is: ‘ the intellectual identification with or vicarious experiencing of the feelings, thoughts, or attitudes of another.’ This basically means to think of other people’s feelings. To sympathize, share feelings and so on. Those three words up above are all associated with empathy - a lack of it.
I can't see as I'm facing your pitiful lies
Don't have the strength to carry your heavy load of life
And you know what? If you’re a traitor, commit betrayal, are a jerk, or an asshole and have empathy - you’re worse than any of these.
You monster!
If you think that what you've done is right, well then
You're a fool…
Think again.
…
On a different note, the word ‘hero’ has no picture or mention of Lord Achilles. I think we need to petition the dictionary makers and fix that. Did you ever know that you're my hero?
…and you know. If you think differently then all of this, I want to prove you wrong my point. Excuses are just excuses after all.
Detached from myself
To see clearly what's beyond
The dreary and cold walls within my head
