I went to the store today to get some more bread - we ran out, and I really wanted a peanut butter sandwhich - and I ended up talking to a girl behind the counter. She wasn't that much older than me and she seemed friendly-ish. I messed up, introducing myself as Iffy instead of Holly and she began laughing....I fixed it, but she called me the 'Iffy-girl' for the rest of the conversation.
She said she wasn't married - she had a boyfriend. I told her that it seemed very odd that she wasn't married at sixteen (because that's what she said how old she was), and she laughed then too, asking if I was new. I told her that I'd been here for a month and was originally from Mycenae.
...she'd never heard of it, so I told her it was in Greece. Then she asked me if it was anything like Sisterhood of the Travelling Pants and I...didn't know what she was talking about. Apparently it's a book series - does anyone know where the library is? In any case, I did avoid saying the time difference, but otherwise I told her alot. Like everyone in the building being confusing and my family being a bloodbath.
I don't think she realized I was serious; when I told her that I was she said I wasn't dressed right to be emo. She had another customer come up before I could ask what 'emo' meant....does anyone who doesn't lie know?
