Dream | 06 |
A sunny day. It was a rather nice day out as well for those of Shibuya. The ever rustling streets with people. The constant chatter of everyone as they pass. It was just your average day.
Neku, looking younger than he normally is, was leaning against the CAT mural in Udagawa as if waiting for something. One thing most will notice, is that he has headphones but they are of the much smaller variety. The ones that sit in your ear and are easy to carry around to be precise.
Still, it appeared that whoever he was waiting for wasn't showing up. Neku crossed his arms and stared at the ground impatiently.
A couple of minutes quickly passed and still no sign of him. With a sigh he flipped open his cellphone to check the time again. Just as he did though, a group of kids came passing by. It got some of his attention as not many people really come by here but he minded his own business. However, it didn't stop him from picking up on their conversation.
"...-some kid got hit by a car?"
"Yeah, they were saying he was in a big rush too. He didn't even bother looking before rushing out into the street."
"Whoa so he was like, suicidal? Weird..."
'Yeah, because people in a hurry are all obviously trying to kill themselves.' Neku thought to himself. Seriously, how stupid could these kids be. He tuned them out for a bit as he tried texting his friend again.
"I know right? It's always the quiet ones."
"They're saying he was DOA by the time he got to the hospital."
"Poor guy, what was his name again?"
"Come on. He's from our school, you know that Ayumu kid."
The name of who got killed seemed to echo in his head nonstop, his eyes wide in disbelief. He immediately shook his head though. It couldn't be him, there were plenty of other kids named Ayumu out in Shibuya...right?
Either way the group passed on by and he continued waiting, only he never came and was starting to get a bit worried but there's no way it was him. It couldn't be.
So he continued waiting where he was supposed to meet up with him. However, it soon became clear as the sky faded into dusk that he was not coming. Neku barely noticed the few tears that escaped his eyes as he looked up to the sky above him.

[Neku wakes up back to normal and less than enthusiastic as he put his hand over his eyes. First he was turned into a kid and now he had that damn dream because of freakin' Josh...]
...Dammit.
