WAPED TOUR 05 //Pamona Fairplex park [7.6.05]
I wait at McDonalds at 7:30am for Jennifer, and my ride. David shows up and says he's coming along. Johnny, Bryan, Oliver, Jenny, Hakon, Mia, Michael, and some other guy comes to pick us up. Jennifer, me, Mia, Michael, David and the guy goes with Oliver while Bryan, Jenny and Johnny goes with Hakon. Oliver had to pick up another person though, Cindy. Pretty packed in the van.

We make it to Pamona Fairplex Park at around 10am. We got a parking spot, looked for the rest of the guys. The line was super long. Lucky for us samsung/cingular phone carriers, we get to the VIP line. In fact, no line at all!!!! Me, Johnny and Mia get through, and pass the phone on to Hakon and friends. There was another line. ehhhh... We finally come in, and no bands played yet! YAY! We all go in our groups, and its me, Mia and Jennifer. We walk around for about half an hour looking at stuff. There was a Vans tent giving out a Vans superhero costume. Password to get one was "steve" or "steven"
The two main stages [Mike and Bishop] were on opposite side of the park. We go to the mike stage, and watch our fisrt band, Matchbook Romance. there wasnt a huge crowd yet, so we were in the front comfortably. took many pictures, but only a few good ones due to the fact thatc it was not my camera, and i didnt know how to use it until laterr during the set. We left after they had one more song to play. Their performance was pretty good i'd say.
We then headoff to the bulletin to see what bands would be playing at what time, and I wrote it all down. Mia and Jennifer wanted to watch The All American Rejects. I wanted ot watch The Bled, so we split up. I go to the Hurley stage to watch The Bled. Their performance was good. Their new bassist looks like their singer, James. I saw Bert from The Used on the side of the stage. The pit was tough.
I left early to go watch The All American Rejects on the mike stage. there was a little pit going on, but i managed my way towards the side front. they're performance was really really good!
Again, i left early and called Jennifer to ask where she was. Her and Mia were already in the pit waiting for Senses Fail. I walk on the other side of the park to the Bishop stage to see Senses Fail. By the time I get there, there were already playing. DUDEEE!!!!!! the pit was soo fuckin hard!! Like crazy. I could barley stand up straight. Wayy too much leaning going on. So i asked a guy to help me out. He tried, but even he hada hard time standing up with all the leaning going on and shit. Soon enough, he was able to lift me up, and I crowd surfed my way out. When I was heading my way towards the front, some stupidd guy pulled me shoe off on purpose. I wasnt able to take pictures. Their performance was okay. Couldnt really pay attention.
Then a lot of people left after the performance, and I was able to get to the front. maybe 3rd row in the middle front. I finally spotted Jennifer and Mia! Just in time to get the MCR stickers i made. I tied it up in a role so i could throw it up on stage. Me, Mia and Jennifer were ready to get to the front when My Chemical Romance is going to play. While they were still setting up the stage, Bob comes and sits at his drum set and starts beating on it for a good ten minutes. Then, Gerard, Ray, Frankie and Mikey come onstage. When they started playing 'i'm not okay', the crwod gets crazy as fuck! We coudlnt get out way to the front because the leaning was so harsh. Jennifer crowed surfed out, then I did too, and while I was up, i threw the ball of stickers onstage, but dammit!! it landed under the drumset. It was good to see them wear their normal clothes, meaning that they didnt all dress alike.
The crowd was pretty bad, the first time I crowd surfed out, I thought "fuck that! im going back in." and so I did, but while I was going near the front, some guy was talking to his friend next to me gesturing, 'her?!?' fuckkk. They got me alright. They picked me up, and i crowd surfed towards the front again, and back out. Hahahah, I ran back in to the freakin pit again. This time, I told a guy I wanted to get out, and i'm barefooted because I had just lost my second show. But I told him if it was okay for him to pick me up so i can take pictures. he did for a little while. Then i get back down, and the pit pushes about. I then meet another guy and asked him if he could pick me up to take pictures. He held me by the waist for awhile and i took a few pictures. he put me down. i asked him if this time i could piggy back ride him, or persay get on his back to take pictures. He seemd cool about it, and instead, lifted me wayyy up over his head to his shoulders. WHOAAA! hahaha. I managed to take a few good pictures, and went back down. It was cool, becuase he was still rocking out while i was on his shoulder! I thanked him a bunch! I walked out of the pit becuase they finished playing. their performance was good as usual. BTW, I LOVE Gerard's new hair! and Mikey's infamous coat with his unicorn pin.
I kept walking back and forth from the two main stages, passing by other stages. I watched Silverstein for awhile. WOW they were really good live! I also saw a little of Emery. After seeing 5 performances in a row, i felt tired, and my feet hurt. i walked around, and found the amber pacific tent. I wlaked towards it becuase i saw te band there, but i wasnt sure if it was them or not. it took me awhile to finally figure out that they were amber pacific by looking at a picture of their table. lol I was just standing there, and Justin siad, "do you want to listen to our music?" I told him i already know thier stuff, but i dont hav etheir latest cd. we started talking, and i asked if they give anything out for free. he sias no becuase they are in debt and stuff. i told him ill buy him something, i just need money. Then I asked Justin id I could take a group picutre, and sure, he and the band was cool about it. I took one group picture shot, and asked if they could squish in for another picture. Matt's like, "we're doing a photoshoot" or something. hahha. Then I took a picture with the band. YAYYY! Right after, i asked Will that my name was Linda, and he said his name is Will and i asked for the rest of the bandmates name because i didnt know their names, just their music. He pointed out the others in the band and said their name. When he got to Dango's name, i asked him to repeat it a couple of times, and to spell it. I said his name is soo cool and he laughed. So i hung out the tent for awhile and saw Henry pass by.
We went off to go watch Thrice. He watched, I listened. Their performance sounded pretty sweet. We walk back to the amber pacific tent and then i spooted Jhonny, Michael, David and Mia. We hung out for awhile, and i let amber pacific sign my ticket. When we hung out for awhile, it hit me that Senses Fail was doing a signing at the winterfresh tent at 4:30pm. So we go find it, and someone screams out my name. it was Pedro and Noe. I thought i'd never see them. They had just met Thrice, and saw MCR's performance. WHOAAA I was super surprised becuase Pedro keeps telling me they suckd and stuff and he said they were alright after seeing them. hahha, then Noe said he punched some guy he thought was Pedro. LOL. When we get to the winterfresh tent, there was already a looong line. I come up to Dave and asked if i could take a group picture of them. he said sure, but i would hve to go wait in line. goshdamn. i didnt. Me and Mia went to go watch amber pacific while David, Johnny and Micahel went to go watch the Offspring at 5pm.
Amber Pacific acoustic performance was sooo freakin awesome!! Really loved it! I recorded 45 sec of two of their songs, and took few pictures. During the time, my camera shuts off. WTF?? the batteries were dead. fuckkk. and i did recharge it all night. But its not my camera, its my dad, and i only had like a day to figure out how to use it. I wasnt used to the camera so that sucked a fuckin ass. Which means, i couldnt take pictures of the Offspring, and a mini photoshoot of Senses Fail.
We head off during the amber paciic set to go watch The Offspring.I got my way to the front! a good spot to take pictures, but nooo. I got really frustrated, but WOW! their performance was really something!!they are really good performancers, as many people say. Everyone was rockin really hard, and i see Noe crowd surf. hahah. I left during their set, and while i was walking out, I saw a guy i'm pretty sure he's from FFTL. Not too sure, but it feels so. I kept staring at him, it
was funny. He saw me too, walking out and looking at him.
I walk out, and head back to the winterfresh tent, and Senses Fail were still signing. No line though. I just sat near buddy, and did nothing. I felt useless because i couldnt take pictures of them. I was just sittig there, and Garrett and i think Dan or
Mike wre looking at me, and giving me the head nod with a little smile, meaning, "heyyyy." hahaIt made me laugh. Buddy saw me later, and he did the same. haha! They had to leave, and i stand up to tlak to Dave. The conversation went a little something like this:
ME: Hey, this has nothing to do with your bandm but what stage did you play on? that one? (points to direction of stage)
DAVE: I'm not sure. i'm too tired to remember.
ME: ohhh, well, MCR played on that stage, and I threw this roll of stickers i made for them...you talk to MCR right?
DAVE: yeah, I do.
ME: Well, it went under the drumset and I was wondering ig you could get it if you have time-
DAVE: oh, well not right now...
ME: Oh, I know, could you tell them about it? or something?
DAVE: sure, no problem. i'll try.
ME: thanks a lot.
I call David and asked where they were. They were at the Vans tent. We all meet up and they watned to leave early because they were all hungry. I wanted to stay, but it ws only me, so i kinda had to change my mind. Cindy got half of a drumstick that Noodles from the Offspring threw in the crowd. So freakin awesome. The plan for the rest of the night was for me and Jenny to go watch Underoath, and everyone else go to see Billy Idol. Jenny wanted to buy an Offspring shirt, so we hang out for a few around the tent. Later, i see Jenny talking to Narith! I havent seen him in the longest time. He asked how Kathy was doing and stuff. coool.Underoath was alright. we were trying to get through the crowd, and i was listening to them. I didnt know what song they were playing until the middle of the song. I gave up on tehe crowd and just watched from behind becuase the crowd was super dusty.
After they finish playing, i waited at the entrance for the rest of the guys to leave. While im walking out, i see two people handing stuff out. it looked like the singer and some dude from Something Corporate. i wasnt sure. but i felt pretty sure, but i did nothing about it. i just continued walking. We all head for Hakon's compact car, and there are 9 of us!!! Bryan, David, and Johnny sat in the back with Cindy on top of Bryan and Micahel on top of Johnny. Me, Mia and Jenny sit in the front passenger seat, and Hakon drove- the only comfortable one in the car. We drive out towards the exit, but turn back around because there was a police at the exit. Everyone empties the car except me, Johnny, Bryan, and Cindy. Everyone else walked out and we find a place to eat. It's 8:30ishpm. and we're hanging out in McDonalds for a really long time. until they closed. around 9ishpm we hang out in fron the taco bell. Jenny slips the Vans cape and mask on Bryan. it was a really good laugh for the night. Other peopel who pass by would see and start laughing. or at least had a smile. It's late, and Hakon takes Johnny, Mia and Micahel home. Everyone else waited until 11ishpm for Oliver to pick us up, and that was it.
