What's up with American Wal-Mart?

So in Canada Wal-Mart is like a normal store that everyone shops at daily. When I see pictures of it in the states or see people from the states talking about it it seems like a store people are ashamed to admit to shopping in. And what the HELL is up with the way people who go there dress?!

In other news our Zellers finally closed and now they are putting a Target there. What's Target like?
