What if God is simply humanity? What if the collective whole is God, like a hive? And out of that collective whole springs something bigger than the collective; to quote Gestalt psychology, the whole is greater than the sum of its parts. Similar to the way consciousness arises in the brain, perhaps God arises from within us. Most religions say that we contain a part of God inside of us.
The question, then, would be, is that ALL God is, or is there more as well?
Dreams have also been on my mind. We contain patterns in our brains that represent other people. So when we dream of other people, we are playing out that pattern of behavior, and attaching it to an image. What is the purpose of playing out other people? Is it a way to help "plug in" that person? To better understand them, to internalize them? Some dream theories say that we are internalizing and processing information when we dream. Why not people? Perhaps it enhances the self.
