It had been several hours since Nadia had been taken from outside the women's prison where her aunt Katya had been living out her undeterminable sentence. Four hours since the plane had landed on a remote airstrip just outside of Hong Kong. Three hours since the car picked them up and drove for another hour to the small town of Yangshuo. It took them twenty minutes to remove her from the car, tie her to the chair and confine her in the small room. Two guards were placed outside her door, and a third one wandered the halls.
They didn't want to be found, and for the most part they wanted to make sure that Nadia was never found as well. Prophet Five had made a deal with her father Arvin Sloane. His help in exchange for the cure to Nadia's condition. The only flaw was that they knew he would use the cure and the hold they had on him would slip away.
Project Helix had been long since abandoned. Replaced by newer and more advanced technologies, Irina had been duplicated, rumors of Miss Reed surfaced as well. Alison Doren was made into Francie, and now one of the true followers of Rambaldi had committed themselves to the ultimate sacrifice. They would die in the place of the Passenger.
Confirmation had already come down from their contact within APO. Nadia Santos was dead, and all they had to do was ensure themselves that Arvin Sloane was now willing to do whatever it took to continue the destiny that many in Prophet Five believed him to be a part of. All they needed was to make sure Arvin Sloane had nothing else to lose.
Nadia was their backup. The just in case type plan, that they knew they had to have. Sloane was not an easily convinced man, and if he were to abandon all that they had strived to achieve they needed to make sure that they could pull him back in once again. Nadia was their fishing line. Nadia was the one thing that they could give back to Sloane should he betray them.
It had been several hours since she was taken, and now the drug that she had been injected with on the plane was slowly wearing off. Her eyes fluttered open slowly, allowing herself to adjust her vision to the room she was now being kept in. Tethered to a chair with her hands bound behind her back. Her ankles tied to the legs of the chair with cable ties that were at least two inches wide just for good measure. Her hands still bound, and her legs tethered to the wall by a flexible cord that was at least
The one guard noticing her awakening, knocked on the inside of the door signaling to the other guard that she was waking up. Her voice cracked as it came from the back of her throat, "Let me out of here! I swear to you that you have made the biggest mistake of your natural lives!! My sister, Sydney Bristow will come for me, and she will show you no mercy!"
The guard moved briskly toward her, his hand flying quickly across her face splitting her lip and stinging against her cheek, "Trust me Miss Santos, we wouldn't expect any less from your sister." Her lip now stained with blood trembled a bit, but she tried to maintain her composure. The lock on the outside of the heavy metal door began to slide out of place, the sound of grinding metal almost piercing to her ears. A slender figure stood in the shadows of the door, with bright light flooding into the room.
Blinking at the silohetted figure standing in the light Nadia tried to focus on her captor, just so that when she got out she could find them and bring them the brand of justice she was so inclined to offer. But when the light from the overhead bulb fell upon the persons face, Nadia could only offer a single word, "Sydney?"
The single word was filled with such a great sense of loss, but nothing could have prepared her for what happened next. Sydney, her own sister drew a gun and fired it at her. The bullet sailed through her shoulder the impact of the hit creating the chair she was seated in to skitter backwards a bit.
It would only be a matter of moments before Nadia would black out from the pain, but before she lost consciousness again she would hear her sister once more, "Tell them to patch her up. She's no good to us if she's actually dead."
