Macie update

I just got the call that Macie is out of surgery and in the ICU. Everything went well and she may come home as soon as tomorrow.

I won't be able to see her for a while though -  she has to stay as near to immobile as possible for two months, which means she can't be allowed to get excited and she has to stay in her kennel 24/7, except for a few

I'm still seriously worried about her. The vets don't seem to understand what we're saying about her behavior. Macie is an active and excitable dog - if she has to be still, she needs to be *sedated*.

Will the vets give you sedatives for her?

They won't listen to us. It's driving us crazy.

If she refuses to stay still after one day maybe they'll listen to you then?

After she wrecks the surgery, you mean?

If you keep her somewhat calm surely a day won't completely wreck the surgery?

One wrong move could. Did you see the pic I added after your last reply? They've literally cut completely through the bone and drilled scews in that go all the way from one side to the other and are re-attaching a badly deteriorated ligament. There's so much potential for this to go badly. They are suggesting she not move at all for two months except to pee.

No I haven't seen the pic. I wasn't sure exactly what the surgery was, just that it was a leg problem.

My god, two months is forever.
