Yay! I feel good about myself.
Since that unfortunate visit to Vaden Health Center brought a few health concerns to my attention (don't worry, nothing major and nothing I really want to talk about), I've decided to be healthier again like my mom raised me. I'm correcting my sleep schedule a bit. Instead of sleeping from 5am until my first class at 10am or noon, my new bedtime is 2am - earlier if I can manage it - and I wake up by 9am. I'm eating a lot healthier - salads at every lunch and dinner, always eating three meals a day (yes, that means at least something for breakfast), eating a lot less meat, incorporating more colors into every meal, and generally trying to eat less. And I've lost a little weight already and it's only been two weeks! I have no idea how much because I don't like to weigh myself and put numbers on it, but I feel and look a tiny bit thinner, which is what matters. I'm probably the only one who can see it, but that's enough. :)
The weather has also finally turned to California-weather and swimsuits are actually a requirement this year because I'll be a camp counselor (I don't think I wore a swimsuit last summer at all...) so I'm correcting my pastiness and getting a tan. Hopefully not too much of one, but enough so that I can't see the capillaries on my chest and legs and to bring a little more color to my face.
I'd like to start running in the mornings, but I haven't gotten around to that yet, one of the reasons being I don't own a pair of sneakers since I ruined mine on Yosemite in the snow and mud/sand?/dirt. We'll have to settle with practicing the flamenco dances I know over and over again in my room.
