The Doctor cursed and held on, checking the readout and deciding that it would do more harm than good to correct the Master's meddling. "The TARDIS is for traveling, not for ripping apart," he retorted. They landed hard, and the Doctor shuddered as he heard a support strut grind against itself. The lights dimmed considerably. They weren't going anywhere for a while.

"Well, looks like you got your way after all," the Doctor said after a moment. "Let's see where you brought us." He walked down the ramp and opened the door.

"I know, brilliant, isn't it?" The Master remarked playfully, ohh he did very much like having his own way, done in his own way. The Doctor offering it was not have he liked, making it so by his sheer determination? Why not!

"Oh don't be a kill joy, I bet she'd love a decent tune up," the Master cooed, hurrying after the doctor and shoving him out the door so he could have a small look around. Not bad, nothing special.

Just looked like a docking bay. "Well, after you my dearest Doctor."

"Oh, no, I insist," the Doctor countered, holding the door open for the other Time Lord. "After you, Master." He was not foolish enough to think that the Master wouldn't strand him here. He may be sickeningly optimistic, but he wasn't born yesterday.

Rolling his eyes, the Master hopped outside and threw his arms out. "See, you're being stupid, there's nothing out here."

And, as if fate really did like to make a dick out of him, an alarm went off, the whole room started flashing red and a cage dropped down and over the Masters head, sealing him in. An incredibly shocked and bemused Master looked side to side before frowning. "... What just happened?"

Seemed this space station wasn't fond on intruders.

It wasn't often at all that the Doctor got to enjoy a look of total shock on the Master's face. He didn't laugh -- the Master absolutely hated it when someone laughed at him -- but he smirked as hard as he could to make up for it. "You're kinda cute when you're utterly shocked," he pointed out. "I don't get to see that look on you very often. You might try it more than every now and again." His immediate response was to reach out and test the weight of the cage, but an instant later he regretted it, jerking his hand back with an exclamation as an unpleasant amount of electricity shot through his system.

Well. That complicated things. And with the alarms going off they probably only had seconds before their situation became far more complex. "Be right back," he said, ducking back into the TARDIS.

Growling in annoyance, he found his being shocked considerably less amusing and shocked. He was trapped, alarms were going off and God knows what was coming to get him.

Taking a deep breath, he looked around from the cage, waiting for the Doctor to do his magic and get him free... instead, he ran off? Really? He'd left, why would he leave?

"Come back here right now!" The Master yelled out, hearing footsteps marching along in the distance. Oh brilliant, he was trapped, the Doctor had run off and he couldn't lift the cage without getting a zap.

How wonderful.

The Doctor reappeared as quickly as he'd run off, wearing the shoulder-length gloves used in high-voltage areas of the TARDIS and carrying another pair. "Here," he said, shoving the gloves through the bars. "Put these on, quick." He heard the footsteps too. The faster they moved the cage, the better. "Grab the bottom, we'll tip it over."

"Gloves? Your masterful plan is gloves?" Wonderful, thats just what he needed. Taking a pair, he slipped them on and grabbed the rail and the bottom part, heaving as hard as he could to move it. The Master was a great many things but he had very little upper body strength, it took the Doctors assistance to finally get the cage off him. By that point, the guards were already bursting in.

"Oh, fuck! Back to the TARDIS, now!"

The cage flipped over, hitting the floor with a clang at approximately the same instant that the armed guards arrived. Without thinking, the Doctor grabbed the Master, shoved him through the open door of the TARDIS, and leapt in after him, slamming the door behind them. Once he caught his breath, though, he was laughing. "Oooh, I've traveled with some jeopardy-friendly people in my time, but I'm gonna remember that one for a long while!" That was fun. Completely unexpected, but fun nonetheless.

The Master wasn't laughing as much, he slumped down onto the TARDIS floor and glared as he caught his breath. That was sheer insanity! Why would their be such an alarm system for a space station?

"Fine, point made, just go get your sodding mercury then drop me off somewhere nice."

And yes, he was sulking now. His plan for chaos had backfired and he was no as amused as the Doctor about being rescued.

"I'm not going back out there!" the Doctor exclaimed. "Those are armed guards!" He strolled back over to the console, peeling off the gloves as he went. "Makes me wonder what they're doing here, though. When are we, anyway?" He checked the console. "Early 51st Century, beginning of humanity's foray into temporal espionage. Nope, definitely not where we need to be ( ... )

"I don't care if you leave me behind, why would I?" The Master complained, pulling a face at the Doctor before turning his head away. He didn't really care what the Doctor did, he always tried to save him anyway so the Master barely batted an eyelid.

When the Doctors hand got close to his, he automatically jerked it away in a protective manner, glaring at the other Time Lord, it was a nice gesture but nice gestures weren't something the Master liked. Instead, he shoved his hands into his pocket and remained firmly on the floor. He was happy to stay put, not really sulking any more. He just had a lack of a better thing to do.

"Don't you have a TARDIS to pilot?" The Master pointed out, nodding his head towards the console. If they were going somewhere again, the Doctor was going first this time.

He'd had enough of looking the fool.

Some days it just wasn't worth being a nice guy, the Doctor decided. He got up and went back to the console, setting coordinates for Earth, 21st Century. If the TARDIS was about to give out, he'd rather her give out on friendly territory.

When the rematerialization sequence was completed, he set the hand brake and activated the locking protocols, then opened the door and stepped into a rainy day in Cardiff.

Pulling himself upright, the Master frowned and peered outside. Cardiff? Why were they in Cardiff? "Earth, really? Its like you want me to hate you."

Regardless, he leaned against the doorframe and looked out before taking a small step outside, following the Doctor regardless. He had no where else to go and nothing better to do, why not stick with his Doctor. Even if he had to stand in the rain.

"What now?"

"What now is, I'm going to find about ten gallons of quicksilver." Which wouldn't be difficult. They were parked outside a fluorescent lamp factory. "You can do whatever you want." And he walked toward a side door and jimmied the door with the sonic screwdriver.

Ill-tempered and frustrated? Why yes, yes he was. Being slighted at just about every turn did that to a bloke. Why he put up with the Master, he just didn't know some days.

And then he remembered. He loved him.

Bugger.

The Master made no move to happily run after the Doctor, he took his time to follow, frowning as the rain got heavier. Wonderful, thats just what he wanted. To be soaked while following after a grumpy Doctor.

"Whatever I want?" The Master 'hmmmed' and mentally plotted options... before walking off in the other direction. He wasn't going too far, mind you, he just wanted to have a look around Cardiff.

He spent a year ruling Earth and he'd barely gone anywhere, it was funny really.

Trying to avoid massive puddles, the Master wandered around, never venturing too far, lest he lose the TARDIS and ended up stuck here.
