Finally, a new post... though one filled with old icons. My muse abandoned me for the past several months, but I'm starting to get a little inspired again, so I want to clear out some of the icons sitting in my computer for a fresh start. Included in this post are my most recently made icons (two months ago) from an incomplete Breaking Bad battle

BUT, TO THE AWESOME ICONS HERE. I can't get over how stellar your compositions and text and texture use are. I lovelovelove the grunge and the boldness in everything here. The compositions in 1&2 are truly original, I get a movie trailer/poster vibe from them, so cool with all that black negative space. Love the combination of small character and huge text in 7-9, and the crazy colors and shiny lighting look gorgeous! 12&13 are just brilliant and ingenious, such a great concept flawlessly executed, I particularly love how the sudden red monochrome changes the vibe of 12, very impact making! And daaaammn the cropping and coloring and grunge in 14 = pure love, though the more muted version (15) is utterly gorgeous too, especially the contrast&lighting, so much depth there :)
Awesome creative composition in 18, the cyans and blues work great with the bw images, and the candy colors and texture use in 19 are just so perfect :> Again wonderful grunginess in 22&23, I love the dark yet saturated colors (I always envy makers who can pull off that kind of coloring) and the text work in 22 is just fantastic with the rotations and underlines and all!
Don't make me pick faves from 25-35 though cause they're all just incredible and some of my very favorites in this post - I love the pop art look in 25-27, the texture work (especially how it splits the icon) in 28-29 and also the vintage awesomeness of 30-31. 32-35 are like designed to kill me with perfection because there's PINK and BLOCKING and asdsfsdfcszdfvdxfg just flawless ♥__♥
38 is another icon I totally envy because seriously stunning composition, text and texture work, I really really love the green silhouette-ish image and the retro font in 'fall' and the unusual color combo and everything. Gorgeous coloring and beautiful concept in 43, and 47 is another piece of perfection cause its just so fun and I love the vibrancy and the pink+orange combination and the frames. Totally saving 49 cause it's vibrant and pink and Des (he's definitely in my top5 LOST characters too), and finally I love absolutely everything about 51, I've had it saved in my inspiration folder ever since you first posted it somewhere cause it's absolutely amazing and expressive and fun and perfectly composed, colored and textured *__*

I share your sentiments about the lack of deadlines. That's why I have so many unfinished entries. I always made one or two icons, then went, "Oh well, I have all the time in the world, let me go enter these other icon comms since their challenges end soon..." and repeated the process over and over again. And now it's too late, sigh. The comm was really great.
I usually can't do the whole dark-yet-saturated thing, and if I remember correctly I really rushed those Nikita icons too so I wasn't too happy with a bunch of them. But sometimes happy accidents happen in the process, and I'm glad you liked those! I also didn't realize how much pink there was in this post, haha. I'm not a big fan of the color, and I don't usually use it in my icons, but sometimes it just works really well, especially the bold, vibrant pinks and magentas!
38 is one of those icons I go back and forth on, because sometimes I like it and other times I wonder what the heck I was thinking by making it. I'm always so happy that you like my stranger icons. It makes me want to keep on experimenting. ^___^ And I'm glad one of my Lost icons finally features a character you like! Haha, it really is sad that we like the same show but (for the most part) love totally different characters.
