There are a few things to keep in mind when it comes to writing community essays for daily topics.

First and foremost, while we have dedicated topics related to GLBTQ Women, and Women of Color, that does not, and should not, exclude inclusion or discussion of GLBTQ women or WOC on any other day. This is significant because the experiences of WOCs and women in the GLBTQ communities can differ greatly from those of white cis straight women.

Secondly, we do not have a dedicated International topic because each topic (and each women's issue) has an international component inherent within it-that is, the scope of women's issues varies and is different depending on geography/location. Those who want to write community essays on any topic are welcome and encouraged to focus on the issue from a global perspective, or even to examine the issue in relation to a specific country.

Finally, the daily topics are broad. Please don't feel that you have to take a broad approach when contributing an essay. If you'd like to focus on a particular aspect of a topic, or focus on the experiences of a certain group of women in relation to the topic, you are welcome to.
