You did a really great job with this one. I liked it a lot. You have a great grasp of the cadence of FF-speak. It felt totally organic to the show. I also loved your characterizations of Kaylee and the guys. The way you wrote them is the way I think they would interact.

Aww, thank you! I was pretty unsure about getting the speech patterns down, and I'm so glad it came off well.

I like it! I think you capture them very well. You got Wash's sense of humor exactly right, which is something I don't trust myself to do, yet. Your first effort is far better than many people's 50th. I think my only real criticism is that Mal probably wouldn't have said "hwoon dahn" when Kaylee started getting sick, although I understand the desire to put the Chinese in there. (I have a friend who lives in SHanghai and is fluent, and I've thought of tapping him for new Chinese words so that I don't have to keep hitting the traditional ones in the FF Pinyinary.) Also, Wash tends to run off at the mouth, and though I don't think that's necessary here, it's something to keep in mind.

Wow, an overall thank you, to you. And an agreeable nod about the Chinese. It's so funny, because I wasn't writing this with the desire to put Chinese in just because it'd be neat. I had to force myself to put some in because they use it so damn much. For a first fic, I'm happy for the most part with how this turned out. Thank you again!

Let's see...pointers on the Angel stuff. Basically, it's all here. It depends on what you like, because I write across the board. Ummmm...if you like the slash, there's Smoke and Mirrors which is a Gunn/Lindsey (yes, you're reading that right) mini-series, which I've been told comes off as believable, even though it's a rather unbelievable pairing. For Buffy Gen there's After the Opera which skitters out of range of canon at The Gift and focuses on a Spike and Tara friendship, with Faith coming into the mix later.

Standalones? The Periodic Table of Wesley, is Wesley over the years from Fred's scientific POV. Baroque is eleven drabbles about Faith visiting Gunn right after Season Five's "Shells". And

Aww - this was great. Wash was spot on, and Mal pushing Kaylee on the swings was a really nice touch. Mean old man my ass, that one. ;)
