Fic: Spring Haze (Faith/Buffy R) Post-Chosen

Mar 31, 2005 22:37

Random experimental fic that I'm iffy about, but am releasing into the wild because all little finished ficlets should be made free. Or...something. It's late, I'm beat, and I had to speak in front of a television camera today; forgive the preceeding incoherence.Title: Spring Haze ( Read more... )

my fic: all fandoms, my fic: jossverse

So, um, I usually REALLY don't like this pairing. But omg. So. Fucking. Good. And the scene with Dawn? AWESOME!!! But I just particularly love the ending.

Dude, tell Chuck to move the fuck over, because I am SO marrying you. Just thought you should know.

Faith wonders what, exactly they dealt with, where she was when they did so, and whether Buffy took notes. Because that's something Faith would be interested in reading over.

God, *dies* yes. I can hear this, see this, feel this.

Would've been nice to have some warning that this was coming. The only person in my life who ever gave a damn about me went to ashes and dust, and I get a phone call at five in the morning from Andrew about it. It's not right.

It didn't go all that well when Giles told me, Buffy admits. I think that's why he had Andrew call you. And, he wasn't, you know.

Faith rubs a hand across her face and shivers. Says: Yeah, I probably wouldn't have been very pleasant to Giles right about then. And who wasn't what?

Buffy whispers: ...Angel.

Her voice cracks in the middle, but she clears her throat and goes on: He wasn't the only one who gives a damn, Faith. You are trying to make me cry like a little bitch. I know ( ... )

Chuck said we'll have to move to a polygamous state, because he isn't giving me up. So...Utah, here we come! *fists you*

And, dude, I kinda sorta wrote this for you, but I took the dedication out when I was done because--as many have mentioned--I have no perspective of my own work and I thought this was Teh Sux0r.

Glad you liked this, sweetie!!

Yeah, Utah. Isn't that where the polygamous Mormons are? That's where we need to be. So that I can have many spouses. *nods*

And, yes, I shall add the dedication back on when I get home.

Faith makes her escape after Giles starts yelling, but before Andrew starts crying, and considers it a good day in Giles' version of Romper Room.
So not the point of this gorgeous story, but I loved it.

Buffy explains: That's where he was turned. In an alley.

Faith nods slowly, says: Me too.

And that broke my heart.

I really, really, truly and genuinely love your work.

Awww, didn't mean to break your heart! And, it's so weird because I honestly posted this thinking it sucked all sorts of butt. I need to get some perspective of my own work because I'm apparently oblivious!

So happy you like this, and thank you for the kind words! *hugs*

That was wonderful. I'm all sleepy today and yet this fic kept my full and undivided attention all the way through. The Buffy/Faith interaction here just felt so right, so as it could have gone after Chosen. Loved all the surpressed sadness and more mature understanding they had of each other, their attempts to make their peace. Also loved the sense of responsibility that Faith now has about her Slayers, her girls. It's aready been said but this -

Buffy explains: That's where he was turned. In an alley.

Faith nods slowly, says: Me too.

broke my heart too. Ouch.

Excellent work.
