The Boy Who Lived Forever, by Lev Grossman.
Thanks to
catalenamara for posting the link in her journal! The article discusses fanfiction and its history, as well as the diversity of its authors and readers. It goes into some of the legal and ethical issues, and even talks about a few of the genres. There are even mentions of K/S. And it's really respectful and well-written; you can tell the author put a lot of time and effort into this, and that's always amazing. It's a good read; I recommend it to everyone.
Peace, y'all!
