D:
So, I went to a K/S-themed slash party yesterday (woo!), with the plan of watching slashy TOS episodes, maybe a movie or two, and fanvids. But, well, things did not go as planned:
* I brought my PS3 and Star Trek bluray goodies, and at first we couldn't figure out how to get it to work with my friend's TV. However, her friend's boyfriend knew what to do, so it eventually worked.
* We were able to watch about 30 minutes of "Amok Time" before my PS3 was like, "Screw you, trollolol!" and stopped reading the discs. I kept getting "invalid disc" errors and shit, and couldn't get the game I accidentally brought with me to work, either.
* Aforementioned friend of friend got a call for her sister, who had been abandoned at a book fair and needed a way to get home. The party was cut short before it ever really got started (this one isn't so bad, though, 'cause family is more important than slash most of the time).
* When I got home, I downloaded and installed the system update for my PS3, thinking that maybe the "invalid disc" thing was just a glitch or whatever. I managed to watch about 25 minuted of "Space Seed" before my PS3 again went, "lolno" and stopped playing the disc. Now, I'll have to get a new one. D:
But there were good things that happened, too!
*
joyful took me to her house, where we watched lots of awesome fanvids.
* She also told me that femslash day is on July 16th, and now I'm planning on writing fic for my new favorite femslash couple (Lt. Masters/Yeoman Tamura woo!)
* It was less of a drive for my mom to pick me up, and since it was raining like whoa, that is a very good thing.
* My uncle got me some flavored vodka and some peach wine. The wine was made in Romulus, New York, which warms my fannish heart.
And that's it!
Peace, y'all.
