opal_skies gave me:
1. LOTR: I think this easily qualifies as pretty much the best thing evar. It's simply made of epic win. The fandom may be fading (much to my sorrow), but that doesn't mean LOTR is any less awesome. Sure, it's kinda tough to keep up the excitement when so few people care, but my love for LOTR and all things Tolkien will never die. The greatest night of my life was when I went to the midnight showing of ROTK in costume. No, I am not ashamed. Long live geekiness!
2. Avatar: a recent obsession interest of mine. It is also made of epic win, but not as much as LOTR. The characters are really good (Sokka FTW), the battle sequences are pretty darn amazing and the humor is actually pretty funny. I've been slowly converting my apartment to Avatar, as well. I was watching the episode "The Blue Spirit" with my roommates. At the part when the Blue Spirit pops out of the mud and grabs the cart over him, Gabrielle goes, "Oh, that's not cool in the slightest," with a big smile on her face. My suitemate Julianna has accused me of being a drug dealer. XD
3. Stargate Atlantis: my erstwhile favorite current TV show, now canceled. *mournful sigh* It was an excellent show, with great characters (how can you not love a whiny, sarcastic know-it-all?), intriguing plots (mostly) and awesome villains. The only real problem with it was that most of the female characters were seriously annoying.
4. Webdesign: ah, my hobby. I have whiled away many an hour working on sites. I still enjoy it, but sadly I've fallen out of the habit. I think it's because I'm just not inspired to make sites for most of my fandoms. The fandoms that do inspire me are usually so quiet that it's difficult to stay motivated. But the web design class I took this past quarter may have inspired me again. I had forgotten how much I truly enjoy designing and building sites.
5. College: the thing that most young people look forward to. Being a freshman at a small, new, unique college like mine is certainly an experience. It has its ups and downs, but I do love it. The people are pretty amazing. I love going to a school in which at least 75% of the student body (all eighty-eight of us) are geeks and/or nerds in various and beautiful ways. There's Kevin, who according to his roommate stares at his LOTR poster with his hand resting on it; there's Gabrielle, who dressed up as Link for Halloween; there's Alan, who knows pretty much every anime; there's Tara, who's an old movie buff, complete with a crush on Cary Grant; there's Jan, who makes people mad at him by constantly singing the praises of Macs. You get the picture. ;)
Ha, ha, I "talk" way too much. My blogs are always so long, lol.
