Oh happy day!

Finally, after all these years, I have Photoshop! Photoshop and then some. My parents bought me Creative Suit 3 Production Premium. No, they didn't actually pay $1700 for it. Dad knows a woman at work whose daughter works for Cal Poly and she was able to purchase the program for $315 in the student book store. Heck, yes! I offered to pay for all or most of it, but Dad wouldn't let me. He says that I have to do amazing stuff with it now, because I'm going to be his and Mom's retirement fund. =P

There is, however, one minor downside to the program: It doesn't work on my computer. It needs a gig of RAM and I only have like 512 megs, lol. Thankfully, it works on the "main" computer, the one that is in the family room that everyone can use. Mom and Dad have generously agreed to let me put that computer in my room and put my computer out there. So, it really isn't a problem ultimately, just an inconvenience until the computers get switched. My parents spoil me so bad.

Photoshop is actually quite a bit easier to use than I thought it would be. I found a couple of good tutorials, and I already feel like I can make better blends than I could in PSP 8. I think my first project will be a new layout for my LJ; it seriously needs one. Unfortunately, PS is rather unfamiliar to me and the unfamiliarity seems to have dried up my inspiration. Maybe part of the problem is that I can't work in my room like I usually do.

Edit: If any of you have any good tutorials/resources to recommend, please do so!
