Monday, in Bible class, we were taught about something called "Sin unto Death". You know how I said I read Hebrews the other day? I feel I should say exactly why I read HEBREWS and not any other book ( Read more... )

You are VERY right Crystal!

Goodness!! That scripture is VERY simple, I don't know where 'they' got that interpretation from. It just doesn't make sense, in fact the very fact that "the worse we sin the sooner we'll die go to heaven as 'punishment" completely contradicts the rest of the bible, and God is incapable of contradicting His spoken Word.
"The wages of sin is death but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord" Romans 6:23
I ask you! In this passage death doesn't merely mean you'll die and go to heaven, other wise Paul wouldn't have bothered to add in the last part "but the gift of God is eternal life [heaven] through Jesus Christ our Lord"
I mean, this subject shouldn't even be debatable, its just NOT biblical!!

I know, it can be hard to stand up for what we believe and contradict when it seems every one else is going the other way, but if your the only one holding the truth its up to you to lead every one else into the light...

Its really sad! We really should begine to pray for our nations!

I KNOW! I mean, I actually could NOT believe what I was hearing. Some people may think that it isn't that big a deal, but the reason it is is A) If someone is claiming something is Biblical and it really IS NOT, that IS important. And B), what do you think it does to our youth when they are told things like this? It's already a big problem that they think that no matter what they do there is NO CHANCE of them going to hell, regardless of whether or not they actually TRY to live right or not. But this; THIS is a totally different scale. This is actually telling them that they will go to heaven SOONER! Can you imagine the number of souls are potentially at stake because of things like this? People who believe this garbage and knowingly and willfully sin without the intent of living right at all are doomed for an eternity in hell. If the Bible says if we are lukewarm His will spew us from His mouth, then what be the consequences of THIS, which is so totally BEYOND being lukewarm ( ... )

Wow! You've really searched and pulled out a stack Crystal,! Amen! Go girl!

Really I don't know how that 'opinion' from the schools text book could even be brought up at all, and I still can't see where they got it from, its completely too far fetched and there is absolutely no biblical scripture or principal foundation for it.

It completely goes against the whole bible structure...any way you already know all this, I need not go on! :)

I know...how is it that we are so easily deceived?! I suppose the reason is because we have a enemy out there, satan, who will stop at nothing to destroy the Word [seed] which has been sown in us (Matthew 13 through)
We have to stay in His Word and immersed ourselves, we can't afford not to.
